Heard Mike Keenan speak about this. After making the trade Buffalo put Haskell on waivers and the Hawks claimed him (no other team put in a claim). The NHL would not let it happen because of a rule stating teams couldn't claim a player they traded.

Peverley was key to winning the cup, and the Bruins werent gonna pay wheeler. We might have won two if he hadnt broken his leg in one of the toughest hockey shifts I've ever seen.

They traded Kessel because of CAP issues. They could not keep both Kessel and Krecji. Pretty sure Bruins made the right choice there.

You should stick to predicting the CAP will be a ba-jillion dollars in 2 or 3 years...

I liked Marty Lapointe alot. He was tough and could score a big goal every now and then. Holland offered him 3 mil AAV and Boston gave him 5. I shook my head.

Only Kessel has won anything post Boston. I remember Hamilton getting owned last year by Boston. They haven't missed him at all.

According to Bergeron, yes. Also lived with him early on when he barely spoke english. I understand that doesn't correlate directly from AAV but players seem to hold LaPointe in high regard for reasons like that.

It's Seguin for Eriksson, Morrow, Smith & Cunningham. It was flippant response to losing a very winnable game 6 to Chicago in the finals.
