Okay, let's find a silver lining in this. A silver cocksucking, mother(frank)ing lining. David Ayres is NOT the biggest story in hockey anymore. |

Ouch - Canada Cup
Yeah...we’re hunkering down. Wish they would publish where the guy went. Since the guy hadn’t travelled, they didn’t test him for Covid. They finally did, and the positive result came in after he died. My wife looked up the family name to see if she could find out where they lived just trying to find out what part of town they lived in. What stores were they likely to go. Crazy times. |

The pickup process at Fortinos is different. They have your credit card info on file. You order, they give you a pickup window time and then bring things out and put everything into your car. No contact.
So I guess it’s a trade off. Everything you buy in store has been touched anyway. Buyer adds one more. Going in store exposes you to all the people in the store plus going through checkout. I think pickup is better. - Canada Cup
That was my original thought too, but I thought that adding the buyer to the equation would exponentially increase the surface contamination risk, because said buyer is basically a cootie magnet.
But then I also think: I've never been this cautious in my life and I haven't had the flu in 15-20 years? |

I bet the NHL pardons the cap for a year, so we can load up on like a zillion FAs and begin our rightful Stanley Cup dynasty. |

Nice, they'll feel (frank)ing ridiculous with no way to hold their precious toilet paper. |

When I did my pick up they said the line at the cashier was an hour. Even if it’s not that bad, imagine, being surrounded by people if you don’t have to be and think of how you could be infected those same people. From the things I’ve read surface contamination is far less of a concern than person to person.
I’m the same and haven’t really had a cold or flu since I retired six years ago. I did my first online buy just over a week ago after my kid gave me poop and made me promise to do it this way. |

People buy all the meds from Walmart and when this is over they return them.
Walmart throws them in the garbage even if unopened.

Phoned 311 this morning - they assured me the Toronto dumps were open.
Loaded up the car with cardboard and trash - including an old bin that had stagnant water that smelled like poop.
Got to dump - it was closed. Phoned 311 - sounds like decision just came down.
I smell like poop for nothing. |

Thoughts on grocery express pickup vs. going and getting yourself?
I ordered groceries online from No Frills this week, first time, easy-peasy, had the best parking spot and had to walk in, spend no more than 3 minutes opening a couple of pantry and fridge doors and walking out, all pre-bagged.
I'm thinking, "cool, hassle-free, least amount of exposure..." then somebody says, "yeah, but that that grocery buyer has been there all day, every day, touching all your poop..."
So what do you think is worse for probability of exposure? - gravyface
if you're sure you get everything - 100% online.
i got 2/3rd yesterday though, and no fresh meet, fresh fish, fresh vegetables...
the grocery buyer has to wash hands every hour or so for sure, definitely better than the people in store that still are 'it's just a heavy flu' |

I’m a farm boy at heart and want to pick out my own produce. How good of a job do they pickers do? - Woderwick
We don't buy a ton of fresh produce, ever since MLSEL chefs told us frozen has more nutrients (true story).
We buy all our staples from grocery pickup - it saves your order so you don't have to refill out the form every week. Then we hit the grocery store or fruit stand or bakery or butcher in our neighbourhood for the little things we need throughout the week. I like it because I can do it on foot - I just bring a knapsack and do it at end of dog walk or run. |

Watched Total Recall (the original) with my son last night.
He enjoyed it, a bit, but honestly the movie doesn't really hold up anymore. - Aetherial
We ran through all the Best Picture nominees for the past few years to pick out a good one for the family tonight.
We are going with Seabiscuit. |
