Was that when the great firepower leafs team couldn't beat a team that had 2 of their top 3 dmen out and a leafs employee in net?

I seem to recall something like that happening

When I did my pick up they said the line at the cashier was an hour. Even if it’s not that bad, imagine, being surrounded by people if you don’t have to be and think of how you could be infected those same people. From the things I’ve read surface contamination is far less of a concern than person to person.

I’m the same and haven’t really had a cold or flu since I retired six years ago. I did my first online buy just over a week ago after my kid gave me poop and made me promise to do it this way.

Line at the cash shouldn't be to bad from now on. Stores can only have so many per square footage. The store I work at is a large sized Valumart and there is only allowed 20 customers max inside shopping at a time. For the first hour of the day is for seniors only. Cashiers will soon have a plexi glass shield to be protected behind. Were finally getting stocked up and the only thing that's really being short on supply is yup you guessed it TP.

There are lineups in Toronto, I'm staying away from big box stores and grocery chains as much as possible. Newest thing is there will be a ban on using cash. Using cash is an easy way to spread the virus which can stay alive on surfaces for 72 hours. Use your debit card folks and wipe it clean after use.

how often are the debit terminals cleaned?

but hey ...

I had to wait for about 20 minutes or so to get into the no frills this morning.

The debit terminals are not something you can control. Taking sanitizing wipes with you to wipe your card after using it, is totally in your power to control.

guys - I really want to urge all of you to take this very seriously.
I know you say you do, but so do family and friends in The Netherlands - and they still go out for other reasons than groceries/pharmacies/hospital.
Today was the first day people realize there that this is going to get really bad - and I can almost assure that due to the very lax policy of Dutch government, The Netherlands will have more corona-deaths than Italy and Spain (relative to total population).

Thanks Max... I know that North America needs to learn from the mistakes made in Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.

Went to a local butcher to stock up on meat today. They only let 6 people in at a time and had purell for everyone that entered. Their debit machine was wrapped in plastic wrap and wiped down between every use.

Other than the occasional food run, we are avoiding going out and even jumped in the car and took the pooch to our golf course for a nice long private walk.

Stay safe everyone.

Phoned 311 this morning - they assured me the Toronto dumps were open.

Loaded up the car with cardboard and trash - including an old bin that had stagnant water that smelled like poop.

Got to dump - it was closed. Phoned 311 - sounds like decision just came down.

I smell like poop for nothing.

Going to the dump is a highlight for me. I love the organization and efficiency.

Lots of room - can she cook and tutor our daughter in math and chemistry?

We are getting together with our neighbors for cocktails tonight.

They are going to sit on their porch, and we are going to stand on the sidewalk - yes, more than six feet away.

We don't buy a ton of fresh produce, ever since MLSEL chefs told us frozen has more nutrients (true story).

We buy all our staples from grocery pickup - it saves your order so you don't have to refill out the form every week. Then we hit the grocery store or fruit stand or bakery or butcher in our neighbourhood for the little things we need throughout the week. I like it because I can do it on foot - I just bring a knapsack and do it at end of dog walk or run.

- Atomic Wedgie

We're going to have to get on board.
I just called my pops to tell him we'll place grocery orders for him online and have them delivered, and they'll be paid for. He lives in a tiny town in south west Ontario. He'll be 87 in August..he said he just went a bought all his groceries...lol.

you are right to keep socializing reponsibly.

my mother and aunt (both recent widows) live 100metres apart.
today I told my mother they should take a 2 week 'self imposed isolation' period (meaning they wouldn't actually meet other people, apart from the contact in supermarkets) - but consider to after that meet every night for dinner and spend more time together.

I had a get together with a friend last night. We stood far apart from each other outside in the park and talked. Then I tossed her an extra tube of antiseptic wipes I had and we waved goodbye.
