Maximum Overdrive came from another short story out of Night Shift. Good flick along the mindset of Christine.

It’s gotta be one of the top five worst big budget movies ever made. It’s the Donald Trump of movies based on books.

If that movie had been even semi-competent we’d be getting Dark Tower based media for years.

Yeah, I’m on Song of Susannah (book 6?) now. I read them years ago before he finished, and never picked them back up until this year.

The only good Steven King book to movie conversions (IMHO) were Misery, IT (both the miniseries and the two recent movies) and the original Pet Cemetary.
- DariusKnight

Misery yes, both the IT shows were terrible IMO, also not really a fan of the horror stuff. Carey, I guess, Christine and the one with the dog not bad.

If only. We’re painting the living room, replacing light fixtures, cleaning out the garage. I’m not getting any down time!

I love books 2-5. 1 is strange and 6-7 felt like he was rushing to finish them before he died.

That’s on you man. If everything goes right I’m coming out the other side of this twenty pounds heavier and cross eyed from staring at a screen so much.

1408 was pretty good as well. One of the creepiest stories I’ve read.

I don’t think my truck has ever looked so good with nothing to do but golf. I’m washing and shining it up every second day.

Sorry, I disagree, Tim Curry MADE that mini-series. Peter Skarrsgard can't even hold his jock strap.

I gotta agree with Codes on this one. The original miniseries is practically a cartoon it’s so cheesy.

Tim Curry was good, but so much of it was bad. Skarrsgard did great as a completely different and yet somehow the same character. The more recent ones were better, I don’t think they were anything special. Just the old one is bad. Made me afraid of clowns forever, but bad overall unless you want something to fall asleep to. Then it’s amazing.

I think I'm biased because I lived in New West when they were filming and my old house was shown during a few scenes in the background. Plus I managed to get a girl I liked to meet Jonathan Brandis (RIP) and it got me laid afterwards

If we are talking Stephen King movies I always liked Creepshow as a kid. 13 at the time and it was fun and scary at the same time.

Original exorcist was the movie that did it for me.
