Original IT was awful lol

I remember that spring like it was yesterday. Waiting for the additional parts to air, it was worse than waiting for the finale of Lost!

Original exorcist was the movie that did it for me.

Holy poop. Me too. It was on tv when I was 8ish and my babysitter let me watch it. Nighttime was never the same after that.

When the movie came out people were fainting in the movie theaters . Movies were never like that. Ambulances called to theaters because of heart attacks . People were having nightmares for months and afraid to sleep.

It was quite the dare among friends to go see it.

Yeah, that was some (frank)ed up poop back then.

A couple other films that legit scared me were Ghost Story (I think that’s the name), and one that focused on voodoo. I’ll look them up.

The movie was trend setting. Back then scary movers were not vivid. Psycho and the Birds were were top thrillers .

Generations that are Codes age have already been numbed by other movies that followed .

The first showings of the Exorcist was the first time anyone had seen something that shocking. It took me a month to get over it.

They had heart attack warnings at the Theaters in Montreal.

When they finally decide to cancel the season and playoffs, we should get a nice defenseman around 13th.
Scneider Guhle Barron or Willander, any one of those players will be a nice addition to this team.

Oddly enough, no newer horror movie has scared me even close to as much as exorcist, 6th sense, jaws.

How Linda blair played that role that well at such a young age is unbelievable.

Most horror movies today are SAW clones, which are just soft core torture porn horror. The original SAW didn't scare me, but made me sick to my stomach.

yeah, you ain’t going to get that visceral reaction anymore. As mentioned, the three movies that really affected the masses:

Psycho - people scared to take a shower.
Jaws - swimming became something to fear (even in a swimming pool)
Exorcist - people became afraid of children.

As you said, movies have to rely on gore to shock instead of well written themes. Too bad.

Silence of the Lambs not up there for any of you guys?

That's the scariest movie for me.

For sure, but it’s much like Seven. Crime thriller. Actually the Exorcist book read like a crime thriller as well. Come to think about it, there’s loads of books/movies that mash up those genres. Misery, Psycho, etc.

Stalking?

I’ve never understood that. Who’s got the time? Life’s far too busy to engage in that bullpoop.

If she’s Bipolar why does she bother with intimate relationships? Sounds like a selfish person to me.
