Yeah, but that Lefty guy is constantly going out and golfing, putting everyone at risk. You're ok Gemsey, but that other guy, he's trouble
I'm sitting at my desk marking papers. My self isolation lasts three more days, then I go back to work for one week, take one week holidays and then am laid off until who knows when. If this non-essential service thing lasts more than 6 or 8 weeks our owners probably won't be able to re-open. - 1970vintage
Well the golf courses are all closed now so he’s poop outta luck
That’s the issue for a lot of small businesses, if it lasts too long the doors won’t open again. Millions of unemployed unable to pay bills. |

If we have to continue paying out Mortgage we are sure that we can pay everything without worry, just want that guarantee the Deferral gives.
Anyone that got the Deferral have any advice on what to say once I finally reach them?(generally their lines are so busy the prompts just hang up on you) |

We haven't applied yet. We could technically afford to continue paying all of our mortgages until Canada Day from our savings. After that, if there's no work, we're in trouble. Would love to hear what people are experiencing from the banks. |

I would try to apply if I were you. Try and keep that savings intact. Our plan is to put it on hold because interest is not accruing during the deferral, and save what we can do pay off the principal later this year. Even if we can only say 1/2 the mortgage, it would be a pure principal payment, and prove that we couldn't actually afford it. |

KHL has now officially cancelled its season - VANTEL
The player contracts there are designed to pay bulk in bonuses. Playoffs probably play a big role in that. The NHL is reverse motivated so they may yet find a way to award the SC.
Speculating more here on KHL effect on Podkolzin. Could his agent now have opportunity to get him released from remainder of contract? That ELC money would be more and some signing/reporting bonus could be written in to pay off the Russian club. |

lol you like it broken down. Okay. The bulk as in larger percent of payment of those KHL contracts is not the salary but bonuses. So playoffs earn the players more money. The NHL team owners make more money in the playoffs as the salaries that are larger percentage of money paid out in their player contracts are during the regular season. So KHL loses less money cancelling its playoffs and NHL is more motivated to do theirs. Okay now.... |

From what I have been informed they are not testing a lot of people but sending them into isolation instead. Mostly those requiring operations or needing hospitalization from breathing problems are getting tested. Plus what I am being told is that if you have had it and are symptom free and then get tested it can show as negative. But then doesn't mean you can't get it again.
Comes down to resource allocation and being a numbers game to keep severe cases down to not overwhelm hospitals. They are looking long term to keep pace on demand until a proven vaccine can be given.
Why they hope at this point they can stem the waive with the shut downs and isolation. But then again who knows. The experts are just trying to cope between triage, social panic and treatment strategies on what will work. |

I don't know about 'Merica, but in BC they are counting "presumptive" cases. That means if you have symptoms, and have been in contact with someone who has tested positive, they aren't going to test you, they will tell you to isolate yourself, but they will count you as a "new case" even if they don't know for sure. |
