Lol. I repurposed my life jacket... No point buying a vest... Used yellow and orange duct tape.

Either way some teams, owners, players, and fans will come out of this pissed off. I have a feeling it’s going to be a bit of a poop show regardless of the good intentions of the league.

Ya, no matter what happens some will not be happy. Everything is so out of balance in the league.

They are courteous discussions . The PA will have very little to say in the next couple of months.

They will have input about the safety of the players but as far as finances it will be the NHL calling the shots.

An estimated 380 million will be lost this year in revenue if the season ends .

- VANTEL

i disagree. the PA will have a lot to say and the NHL needs them to agree. anything in the CBA that was collectively bargained (cap, draft etc.) cannot be unilaterally changed by either side.

i don't think they'll have major disagreements but the league for sure will consult and get the PA on board with everything. those talks (i would assume) are ongoing so it's not like either side will be surprised by anything when they are allowed to resume.

God in all of history has risen one man from the dead at Easter. Trump is going to rise an entire country from the dead at Easter

I hear the head of Canada Medical saying it could be months but Donald says Easter.

How many fans are going to feel comfortable going to a game after a couple months of unemployment to go to an arena to sit beside strangers for 3 hours immediately after a pandemic has just ended?

I believe there will be short courteous conversations to keep the good relationship going but it is going to come down to the only way we can go forward is if we do this and the PA will agree.

Token gestures.

i agree that the PA will agree but they are not token gestures. they legally have to get the PA's approval on a lot of these things.

Slightly off the topic but I wonder how anxious Don and Bloated are to go back to the arena ? I wonder if they are going to wait , or go back for game one?

Back on topic now , I have no idea how this whole thing is going to play out . I think the PA will have a lot of concessions .

they'll rubber stamp what the league wants to do. that, i think, we both agree on.

all sides just want to get back to playing as soon as possible so they can get back as much of the lost revenue as they can.

players are going to be giving back a lot of money when the total revenues are calculated for the 19/20 season.

I agree with everything.

What I do think most are forgetting ( not you ) is that losses could go on for years with this .

Not only sports but entertainment , and everyday life could take a huge kick to the nuts.

Why does gas drop 50 cents in three weeks?

i agree. we don't know how this virus thing plays out on people's psyches. as you mentioned earlier, is social distancing the new normal? are people going to be as comfortable being in large groups? will there be a covid-19 season every winter (until there is a vaccine)? on the flip side, will tv rights be more lucrative as people would rather watch from home?

so many questions that could go so many different ways.

as for oil prices dropping, it's a combination of drop in demand (due to the virus) plus the oil production battle being played out by SA and Russia. SA is really trying to destroy Russia for not agreeing to their suggestion of decreasing production (due to the virus). they want Russia to get in lock-step with OPEC. consequently, will the US direct its oil producers to decrease production?

Rights owners will be the eventual winner.

It is getting to the point of costing 300 dollars to go see a game . A case of beer cost 30

It is becoming so much easier to stay home to watch.

I am not as optimistic as most, as i doubt any sports will be played the remainder of this year, but i do agree, how many people would want to show up to a game to sit side by side with a stranger or have a stranger stand in the hotdog/beer/bathroom lineups, after being out of work for many months and stuck inside because of a pandemic.

Seth Myers ripped him Friday for this comment

Then him and kim jong-un went out and shot a round of golf together and both shot an 18

It could also be a good idea if the NHL streams the entire playoffs and each fan pays like $10 and gets to stream all the games.

I went to my first game in a decade this year, and it is definitely better in the Arena than at home...But it is not $50 for a cheap seat or more better for the most part.

Every pick traded for 2020 would need to defer to the next season if they did that. More than half the leagues GMs/Owners would not agree to giving picks away for literally nothing if they weren't going to do something about it. Toffoli was good for us, but the 5 or 6 games we got him for was not worth Madden and a 2nd. Playoffs and Playoff games would have been worth it 100% though.

The Russia, Saudi, US shale oil price war is one of the most interesting political stories in years. I’m fascinated by it. So many facets it almost reads as fiction.

I really hope it continues. It’s like a death match. In the end they’ll all be dead or at least severely maimed because of it.
