To be fair, you can’t haul a moose or put a gun turret on a car. Some of us need trucks. To each their own I guess. - DrunkenCanuck
Yup.
Trucks have a place. Absolutely sounds like you could use a truck.
It seems like 40% of the road is trucks these days. I am just saying marketing and media has really don’t a good job making people think they need one.

Yeah, but I think the after-factory roof rails look awful. |

what if the problem is that there is a difference in opinion on whats good and bad customs? - senstroll
sure.
but i was just pointing out that not all change per se is better.
for example, the current situation shows that not all 'progress' (e.g. privatization of public services) is directly leading to improvements.

I hope the Leafs sign Grigerenko and that Russian goalie they have been eying.
Would he come here after getting Campbell? Probably not but it’d be nice to start hoarding some goalies for a Freddy replacement. |

Fun to drive and reliable
Thinking of getting one for my gfs main car - Santo_44

What I'm pointing out in my previous email that there are different interpretations as in what 'conservatism' is.
(holding onto bad customs is bad; holding on to good customs isn't bad..) - MaximusAurelius
But it’s not generally about conserving customs. You can have any kind of social and cultural organizations to do that. It’s usually about conserving an economic order with the political structure that supports it. If you’re ok with the way the world works or used to work 20 or 30 years ago, conserve away. If you think there are significant inequalities baked into the system you will look for another way. |

actually ... seems to be a growing sentiment that people are suddenly appreciating teachers a lot more these days
I know my wife and most of my friends are waiting for instruction on how they are going to help educate kids going forward. As you can appreciate it is not a small challenge! |

My comment was sarcastic commentary pointed at people who poop on JT for being a teacher.
Also I would like to point out the delicious irony in that the PC candidate that ran against him most recently was a waiter, a data entry guy in insurance, and worked at a constituency office before becoming an MP |

I agree with you on the need to improve systems.
I am speaking from a European perspective where I truly believe that the equalities actually have grown bigger over last 25-35 years with systems being changed from more conservative / social systems to the 'liberal/progressive - let's privatise everything' systems..
(I just want to point out that 'conservatism' is always put in a negative connotation - which I feel is not always warranted) |

Generally speaking (like, 99.999% of the time) it's conservative governments privatizing public services. |

And now we get into the discussion of what distinguishes a conservative from a neo-liberal, and how the modern definition of liberal doesn't equate to the definition of classical liberalism espoused by Adam Smith, or neo-liberalism |

I’ll have to take your word on that but European income inequality is far less of a problem than the US. (Canada usually comes in between the two on social and economic measures.) I also don’t know that privatizing everything is the biggest driver of equality or inequality and Europe certainly has a far more progressive tax system. |
