I’ve been able to start all my draft viewings at least. Watched every highlight package I could find on most of the top prospects as I could find.

I really do think we are going to be grateful for picking top 10 last year (Cozens) and this year.

Some truly, truly elite prospects available this year.

The second the draft is over though, I will join the “win now” crowd. It’s finally time.

It's interesting with Covid-19, while the death rate is higher for Boomers and older, the GenX-ers are leading the infection rate (positive tests)...heard that on TV yesterday, haven't see numbers to support it. The educated guess is that GenX-ers are typically the most socially active.
No hidden agenda here, just a comment.

For many of us our kids are at the point of being out of the house or able to stay home by themselves.

I’m 41 and my son is 16. Plus I sling drinks for a living.

So I’m in a social setting somewhere in the 60 hrs a week range.

I swear I had the vid in early January.

High fever
Dry cough
Difficulty breathing
Ached like a mfer

It was 3 days of pure hell. The sickest I had ever been in my life. And that cough lasted 10-14 days.

I know 2 RNs in Washington state, who both said to just wash hands frequently and use sanitizer after touching things in public... when using hand sanitizer rub hands until dry, as the alcohol dries out the virus and friction breaks it apart.
I also know 2 brother's who got sick and had all the symptoms, but when they asked to be tested for it they were told that they had to undergo 2 other tests for other viruses which totaled $2500, before they would send in the swab for testing. They are both in their forties and we're told to stay at home.
I firmly believe lots of people have had it already that weren't tested, not enough test kits available to test the people most likely to survive, so I put little or no faith in death rate statistics.
Be well fellow Sabres fans

Okposo for the next 3 years for $6m is far more useless than Skinner at $9

Probably. 3 million for 4 more points this year. Problem for skinner will be those later years when we hopefully are competing for a cup (when Cozens and new guy hit prime). Okposo will be off the books and we will have a 9 million dollar albatross contract to deal with

Except Okposo is out of here in 3 years when Cozens and our pick this year gets their raises and then Skinner is our new Okposo for the last 4 years of that deal.

I'm not ready to punt the next 3 years. This team should be making a run or two in that time frame. Skinner will score plenty of important goals in that time frame, especially if they had $6m extra Okposo dollars to get a center for him. Okposo adds elite bigness, a glass jaw and not a lot else

If they had an agreement for Okposo to get permanent toe fungus and go on LTIR, then I think it would be an interesting discussion to use a compliance buyout on Skinner, but Okposo is the obvious and only choice at the moment, imo

A buyout of Skinner is not a realistic option. Even if Okposo did end up on LTIR, you don't buyout a player you just signed and didn't provide him anybody to play with. Not only would it hurt trying to sign other free agents, but the Sabres would look even more stupid when he gets to play with a true 1C/2C and starts scoring 30+ goals on his new team.
I think that he is making too much and I would have preferred to trade him at last year's deadline where they could have gotten quite a haul, but he is here now and should be a guy to build around.
Worse/best case scenario is playing him on the second line again with no center and he agrees to waive his NMC for the expansion draft and becomes a Kraken.

Hard to predict who is going to be available. I've seen players all over the board. Diggs' brother, for instance, I've seen as high as 18 and as low as 45.
JK Dobbins is another guy who is listed up and down the boards. A few edge guys should be available in that range depending how they fall. Terrell Lewis or Curtis Weaver could be available there.
I fully anticipate Beane trading up to get a guy he wants.

- adambuffalo

That could happen, see who falls. There is gonna be some good football players available in that general area. I wouldn't mind Weaver. Also heard they like Mims a lot.

I'd MUCH rather have Kahun for Sheary and Erod than picks.

Scandella for a pick instead of Frolik. Well, yeah.

You far from alone regarding the bolded above. I know many people who experienced similar and believe it was due to the corona virus.

Did you still go to work when you felt like that?

I've always been a big believer in those who are sick staying home instead of infecting others.

I was raised you go to work, it’s up to your employer to send you home. That way they know when you call off, you mean business.

In 11 years I’ve called off twice.

11 years ago for severe allergies(apparently once you turn 30 you get them)
Last year because my sister passed.
