I still think Strome from Chicago is on the Sabres radar, if you try and go after Barkov he is gonna cost a lot and put us back in the situation we were in after the ROR and Kane trades. Strome will cost but not half as much.
- Buff36

Me too 36.
I think he is the most reasonable in terms of acquisition cost, production, age.

BTW, remember about 6 weeks ago someone posted that Strome was playing Wing rather than Center and posted a link to a website that listed Kane between DeBrincat and Strome as the rationale? https://frozenpool.dobber....com/players/dylan-strome
Ya, I later determined the site listed players in alphabetical order across the line-combos, lol.

I now use CapFriendly's Depth Charts page under "Fantasy Tools" tab....find it to be much more accurate.

cirelli would be my #1 trade target and if it can't be done, then i'd consider signing Granlund as a free agent using him and Johansson at center in the middle six...

I mentioned Vatrano a couple posts earlier, he'd be my #2 trade target

- Michael Pachla

Cirelli would be perfect, still find it unlikely though.

They have used Strome at both Center and the Wing.

A few ideas:

Nick Foligno - Mittelstadt and Asplund/Borgen

Jeff Carter - Asplund and a 2nd

Strome - Mittelstadt and 2021 conditional 1st (points based - say 50)

- jcragcrumple

A little too much for Foligno, although I like the idea. I brought him up before Columbus went on their run to a possible playoff team.

Carter didn’t want to waive from my understanding

Strome deal seems reasonable.

Is Vatrano a C?
Hockey-Ref, Cap Friendly & Daily Faceoff show him as a LW.

Should they use assets to acquire another LW with Olofsson, Skinner, Mojo, Kahun capable of playing there already?

Yeah, someone said he had been switching back and forth, was hurting him more than helping, had his best year last year primarily playing C. My friend who does ESPN sports radio in Cincinnati said he heard the Sabres tried to get him about 2 weeks before the deadline, but it just didn't happen cause Chicago was still in the hunt.

no, but I like the way he plays the game...would be an excellent 3rd line lw behind skinner and olofsson

Not sure, but I would do it for Strome.

Strome isn't perfect and is playing with some good W talent in Chicago, but again, I think he would satisfy the 2C need immediately and not cost a boat load.
Unless Ralpg intends to play him as a 3LhD

I'm sure.
At that time, the stance was "he's not playing C, but is at W"
Forgot and don't really care who posted it.

Their hope has to be around Compliance Buyouts (2) from the Revenue decline leading to a stagnant Cap for next season. I would envision several teams pushing for it.

I am hoping for atleast 1 buyout., get rid of Okposo contract. The whole 4th line should cost what he's making.

I hear ya.
I would like for the GM to resolve the RW with actual RWs, and let the LWs play their natural position for optimal performance.
Yet, Mojo is likely here for 1 more season, so maybe next offseason after this?

I really want the GM to go get Josh Anderson from CBJ, hopefully at reduced acquisition costs and contract signing.

I haven't looked at it all, age, remaining term and Salary all need to be considered.
Yanni Gourde has too long to Buyout with 5x$5.2m, but for a 4th liner and a NTC it is bad...he produces for a 4th, but wow the cost for that in their situation is crazy.

Palat and Kilorn?
I know that is alot of production, but both have NTC'S so are they willing to waive?
Cirelli, Sergachev, Cernak all need deals and are younger
Will be interesting to watch.

I quit watching Tiger King after watching the first episode (hated everyone involved and they were all disgusting, gross, and ugly)...but someone on here said to give it a chance. Finished it last night. It got better in the next few episodes..then the last couple of episodes were "meh" and the ending kinda blowed. Kinda fizzled out there.

And I still hate everyone involved.

It’s anybody’s guess.

I would think they would try to move Johnson, Killorn, Palat, Paquette first though.

It's interesting to me to contemplate the changes we will see in a post-Pandemic country.
Just one consideration is do our Gov't leaders at various levels work together jointly develop a better Preparedness Plan for another Pandemic, or do they sink into finger pointing and let the opportunity for improvement drown under a bunch of useless rhetoric.

For example will a much needed cushion of supplies be identified at the Hospital, County, State, Fed levels in which each cushion is designed to address different levels of an outbreak.
I.e
-Hospitals are required to have a 2 week supply of various supplies/equipment to address a defined level of outbreak...say low
-Counties are required to stockpile and additional 10 days at low levels
-States are required to provide 3 weeks of supplies necessary to address a moderate outbreak
-US Govt required to stockpile enough to address 20 or 30 or N large cities for an additional 30 days of a moderate outbreak.

That type of tiered approach will cost money, but would provide valuable time to respond to a Pandemic while the Private sector can gear up to address more medium-term needs .

Also, will the US Govt encourage US companies who produce critical items manufacture them in the US...at least some type of plan to be able to ramp up manufacturing very quickly within the US.

- IonSabres

Everyone wants to blame the govt (nat'l or state) for not being prepared, but what about the hospitals that are so focused on profits that they leave themselves unprepared for a situation such as this. Every hospital administrator should have protective gear in stock/on hand for a worst case scenario. Their focus on profits has left their medical staffs exposed and vulnerable, but it's all the govt's fault for the for profit hospitals not being more prepared.

Pacquette is the only one of those that doesn't have a NTC and moving him does not really help them with their cap that much. I don't see why any of the others would waive their NTC to leave a great team, nice city and most likely make less money due to taxes.
I would think that if there is a compliance buyout, Palat would be the guy. One of the others could likely be gone at the expansion draft next summer.

I would prefer to try for Puljujarvi. Should cost less to acquire and his contract should be about 1/2 of what Anderson gets.
