Was 2016-17 the year when he played with Foligno and Gionta?

I'm trying to figure out why he was playing 17 minutes a night (other than because he's super good, of course)

Can't remember.

I just went into a little rabbit hole on that season. Larry only played 36 games (don't remember why), ROR 71 (maybe the appendix year?) And Eichel 61 (I think that's when Girgensons broke him in the preseason).

I dont remember much that was memorable about that season. Lehner and Nilsson were both lights out though - .920 and .923

78 points and then the firings

Edit - the most memorable thing for me was probably when Bylsma slapped Reinhart's peepee and glued him to the bench. And then scratched McCabe on awards night when he was voted "unsung hero"

It's all coming back now

soooo...I was wondering where all the fascination with angry larry came from...two years ago there was a long line of fans ready to drive him to the airport...last year many were questioning why botts would re-sign him...now after a solid season where he was on pace for eight goals (2 shy of a career high) and 23 points (the first time he would crack the 20 point mark) while being sixth amongst forwards in 5v5 average time on ice (12:49,) fans can't get enough of him...

now I know why...

from joe Yerdon, the athletic:

"Just as it is in the raw stats, WAR and GAR have Eichel heads and shoulders above all others. When you score that many goals and points and lead the team in just about everything, that’s how it’ll go. What’s wild with the advanced numbers is that in both WAR and GAR, Larsson (1.3 and 7.6 respectively) and Vesey (1.1 and 6.3) are second-best and third-best on the team at forward in overall minutes. This is likely going to mean a lot of you are going to pooh-pooh what these numbers mean. I get it to a point, but the defensive value of Larsson and Vesey (yes, seriously) help them out."

- Michael Pachla

I'm with Rivet from The Instigators today when he said Lazar can do what Larsson does.
Maybe not immediately, but he can grow into it.
Also agree with him that I'd pass on bringing back
Girgs
Larry
Vesey
Frolik
Simmonds

I just need a different vibe on this team. So tired of watching these slow and older vets that the team has lost so well with.
Bring in some new and younger talent that can grow together even if it takes a good portion of the year for them to gel.

sounds like a bit of a slight there, schneidsie

Not at all. I really like bobbers. Harley, Honda and Triumph make for really cool bobbers. The 750 Nighthawk can be made into a cool bobber.

The question is: what will it cost to bring back Sobotka?

No way I go more than 3x3

Fallout 4 is the bee's knees. First game since Bioshock that has hooked me.
- LandlordTom

Ever play the old ones?

New Vegas and Fallout 2 are my favorite, but Fallout 4 took a while to really grow on me, now it's one of my favorite games ever.

I said from the very start of the season that Vesey was quietly one of our best defensive players and everyone collectively shat on me.

His value on the team was vastly under-appreciated and he is a perfect middle-6 winger.

We are desperately weak at C. Larsson isn't even a natural C IIRC.

Great game. I keep going back to Skyrim as well.

Of course it helps they release it ever 10 minutes on a new platform.

Imagine what a guy like a fully healed-up Josh Anderson could add to the team.
A tough board battle warrier with speed who can score

I honestly don’t want to split up the LOG line

Lines 1 and 4 are actually good.

Lines 2 and 3 need some tweaks this summer

Looking to see what names could potentially be available as compliance buyouts. Just a few names that could be available (obviously not a sure thing):

Henrique
Stastny
Voracek
Benn
Gourde
J. Carter
Bjugstad

Thoughts? Interest? Other names?

Henrique was on pace for 30 goals.
Don’t see Benn being bought out.

I think the perception of Vesey was hurt/damaged when he spent time on Mittelstadts wing, which wasn't fair to either of them. Not a good fit imo

Yeah he crushed it at 5v5, there'd be no point buying him out now. Someone would give up assets for him.

Not a sure thing by any means but it's a possibility. $9.5 for 5 more years for a declining player

Declining team.

That buyout is a rather large one too.
Not sure Dallas can take that in. Might be more feasible to eat salary than a buyout.

Pavelski is a more likely candidate.
