In the beginning phases of testing in bc, we had one facility testing that could do 45-75 tests in a 24 hour time frame. We are now sitting at 5 hospitals (4 mainland) 1 on vancouver island (victoria general) and contracted out life labs in Surrey. Our new numbers of tests per day is 4000-5000. Our capacity for testing is great. What I learned though, is that canada is projected to have 4 weeks of incline in confirmed cases (probably due to testing capacity being increased) before we are set to have a massive "surge" in confirmed cases.
As far as bc doing well. We are doing average. Healthcare workers are managing, but it's about to get scary as supply starts to really dwindle. We have 59 healthcare workers with contracted covid-19 in bc. We are completely scarce on ppe and arent able to source much. Inventory is data managed and dispersed based off of historic use. There are nurses in vancouver using scarfs for masks. They are given 1 mask per shift. It's very much scary for us in BC in healthcare.
I dont mean to be the bearer of bad news in what most people think is a small victory by todays health ministers numbers, but we are just about to get hit hard and this thing is far from over. I'm hoping everyone is staying safe and will continue to do their due diligence and isolate - Codes1087
Yes, but what movies have you watched lately? |

I watched “Ma” and “Us” last night. Not sure I would recommend either but it passed the time. |

Lord H would recommend a Star Wars saga, Vantel is watching Pulp Fiction, El Capitan is probably watching Clifford the Big Red Dog. One is as good as the others. Grab a snickers and get back to work. |

If I were you I’d just YouTube hockey fights from the 90’s, a lot of enjoyment in there |

Thanks for the information.
poopty to hear about the situation with the PPE and health care workers getting ill.
The one thing I haven't heard about is wether or not patients that have recovered now have immunity or some form of it. I'm putting you on the case if you don't mind. |

My shift ended at 330. I'm two gin and tonics in and just lost both episodes of jeopardy to the wife. I'll have 5 or 6 before the nights done I hope. |

From our town hall on thursday.
It's still not researched. They said that they are urging front line workers to come back immediately after recovering and that immunity should last between 2 weeks and 2 months. Beyond that its unknown. We have confirmed cases in people who had previously recovered from covid-19 though. |

Damn, so even herd immunity is not a viable approach. They're essentially going to have to shut everything down internationally until there is a vaccine or the virus runs it's course. |

Yes, the beaches are nice. Diving and fishing is awesome. But the wife and I liked the jungle the best. So different. We stayed at Chaa Creek.

Highly recommend it for something completely unique. |

So good. The gimp scene is a bit much but that’s Tarantino. Loves to shock his audience but sometimes he misses the mark.
Still think Django is his best. - bloatedmosquito
lol I remember when the gimp scene started in the theatre about two dozen people got up and left...it was tough to know what was coming with Tarantino at that time.
Love Django but I think he peaked with the Basterds. Loved Death Proof too very under-rated. |

One of the best places to see whale sharks. We also got to swim with manatees, lemon sharks, really big barracuda. If you are into nature stuff it’s great. |

Gotta be in the mood for it. Watching 1917 and it's very well done. And the first Captain America also quite good. |

Yup...love it all. Took my daughters years ago to dive the caves in Mexico, swan with giant turtles, did a jungle tour, we still talk about that father daughter trip, it was so great. |

The opening scene in Basterds may be one of the best ever. So intense.
TBH Grindhouse is my least favourite of his. I understand what he was trying to do but couldn’t get onto it.
For me it was:
1. Django
2. Dogs
3. Basterds
4. Pulp
Looking forward to seeing Once Upon a Time. Have you seen it? |
