India is no nonsense there. Seen footage of police beating everyone on the streets with a stick |

Was out driving and I heard the report BC had half the cases again down to 24 , and they should be able to handle things if people keep social distancing |

The problem is that BC is not testing. We are only looking at the worst cases. After the number hits 0 we still need to social distance for at LEAST 14 days if not longer. |

I think so far BC has handled this magnificently . Fourteen death in the province in the month and 11 from one facility that really mishandled the situation from day one.
You can always find something wrong with anything but my opinion so far is the provincial / federal government have been excellent |

I'm not sure what's going on in BC but in other areas they've stopped testing people with mild symptoms. I called the automated hotlines here, basically told risk was low and to stay home. |

Pretty well the same here, breathing issues while laying down is the clincher. |

$7, 5kg of rice and 1kg of legumes.
That test will cost you $60. |

Didn't you freak out that someone wanted to name petey's line the 6/49 (6-40-9) line?
With the slowdown in the economy, the province and feds should expand gambling and lotteries to generate revenue. That would be a great way to raise revenues. Any thoughts? - RealityChecker
I said it’s a stupid name and BCL doesn’t deserve free advertising, but i rarely “freak out” about much. I have opinions and defend them like the captain of a sinking ship but complaining is more other posters’ speed who i will refrain from naming. |

New Brunswick closed the border to Quebec with a few exceptions. I think Nova Scotia has pretty much done the same and PEI shut down the confederation bridge awhile back.
Meanwhile, Ford in Ontario has declared everything as essential service. |

i don't know if we're being overly optimistic but i'm feeling more optimistic about our province. hopefully, everyone keeps the social distancing going for a few weeks and this trend continues. |

Two new cases died bringing it to 16
Two health care workers also contacted it. Sad but numbers are controllable |

The problem will become how you loosen up with restrictions without creating the huge 2nd wave. They're going to have to curb international and domestic travel until the entire world has a handle on the situation. |

City of Vancouver just suspended Tim Hortons license for over the limit crowds.
They should have rolled up the rim |

They have done better than many area's for sure, But if our number hits 0 we still need to isolate for a long time as from that day people could still spread it for 20+ days with incubation and being sick. Then you need to take in to account that they don't know 100% how long it lasts on surfaces. End of April could be a pipe dream, could easily be till the end of May. All it takes is a few dumb4sses(there are a lot) to spread it some more. |

I think that's a reasonable range based on what we heard today. |

I agree, the province and federal government have done a good job getting the message out to the general public on how to get in front of this thing. As Canadians are generally pretty agreeable to the rule of law that’s not surprising. There were a few who took longer but generally we’ve done well and being sparsely populated outside of Vancouver probably also helped. |

I think this is far from over but we need to handle one problem at a time IMO. |
