Myers isn't a mistake even, he's just slightly overpaid. Will he become a mistake? Maybe, but that's yet to be seen. D always hold more value than forwards too, so even if he starts to slip he can be more easily offloaded.

Save the compliance buyout and do a reciprocating deal with some other team where you trade and then re-sign Myers post-buyout like Washington did with Brooks Orpik. Canucks would use their buyout on whoever the other team sends back in exchange for Myers.

Could free up about $10MM to $11MM in cap space for a couple of years. More importantly, you'd be freeing up $4MM - $5MM in years 3-5 of Myers' contract and he'd be more movable or easier to be bought out again down the road as he declines.

Stressful times. My fathers health went to complete poop fast. Spent endless hours driving back and forth from Kamloops and is there a worse place to be during a Pandemic than the Hospital over and over? First it wasnt cancer, then oh no we think its cancer and then its not cancer. Meanwhile, they nearly killed him by tripling his meds. He went into critical condition twice. New doctor sorted out his meds. He needed a decrease not an increase... now they think he doesnt need the meds at all. This idiot doctor in 100 Mile House must kill more people than he helps. Everyone female doges about this moron.

Not sure what the motivation is for teams to trade each others players they then will compliance buy out.

Myers is a popular target because he has the biggest AAV plus longest term. But he's bringing value to the team. That analysis by the Athletic article lays it out.

By years 3-5 all the other fat vet contracts will be gone and Canucks will have a lot ELC's So is all that Myers' finessing really necessary?

I have a hard time pointing the finger at the states when our medical system also fails people at the same time.

America elected Trump, a loser(not as dangerous as war with Russia Hillary). They elected Obama who was a big historical moment but he also comes in on a promise to put wall street abusers in jail... and bails them out instead. Only Bernie Maddof who grew up working class and only scammed the rich was sentenced to something like 250 years in jail(clear message there). No one else was busted. Then he became the biggest preemptive war president in history. He was a breath of fresh air after the loser that Americans voted for, Bush, who like Obama, lied the country into war(albeit far fewer wars than Obama).

Point is, how the media presents these bumholes is the single biggest factor in how they are perceived by the public but in reality, they all serve the same people...oligarchs, foreign lobby, religion, themselves.
