NHL and NHLPA have recently reached agreement on final numbers for Hockey Related Revenue (HRR) for the 2018-19 NHL season. Players paid 12.9% escrow for 18-19. They’ll be getting back a little more than 3%. The owners will get the balance of slightly less than 10%.

Actually Darth has an interesting concept. Does a team like Toronto buyout a Taveras or a Willy Nylander (11mil and 7mil respectively) in order to give them cap flexibility?

No. Dubas is determined to keep his 4 BIG guys. Matthews, Marner, Tavarez, Nylander. They may, though. Trade for omebody else's "bad" contract and pick up some assets....THEN employ the buy-out. Thus restocking a little.
