People are people. There are good ones and bad ones. I dont understand why people talk about a different generation like a separate species
- jcragcrumple

Its a little weird breaking things into "generations". So, say 18-27 is one group, while 28-37 is a another group. How accurate is that, anyway? As if a 26 yr old would be more like an 18 yr old that's in his "generation" than he would be the 28 yr old who is in the older "generation".
I don't get the need to put everyone into categories and stick labels on them. Many of the younger ones seem so very fond of labels nowadays. Everyone has to be put in a category as they try to remove all the shades of gray from life. Seems like a giant step backwards in thinking, to me. Tangential rant over

This is why people rag on Boomers.. broad generalizations about Millenials, while Boomers grew up in the ideal time to be an American and absolve themselves of any responsibility for our present situation. Your generation have been occupying all positions of power for the last 20+ years, and have been complicit in completely shaping the world and this country into what it is today; and yes, that includes everything you hate about Millenials.

Then Boomers ask, "what on earth did we ever do to you, you privileged Millenial?"

You did nothing. You let this happen. Now it's up to us and our grandchildren, and their grandchildren to clean up the mess you created.

- BareMetal

Actually I will take back what I said in some aspects, we have screwed up in some ways, we lost what made us strong and sold ourselves to cheap labor and and Devil's that own most of this Country. And you are right in someways, are children are gonna pay for it.

Because our hands are not "dirty"

As one millennial to another...stop perpetuating the sterotype. My generations proclivity to scream and whine and cry about not getting our way and blaming everyone else for our own problems is (frank)in nausiating.

I will blame so called "boomers" for one thing...maybe if more parents would have introduced their milennial children to the word "no" and didn't give them participation trophies for existing...we wouldn't be left with an entire generation that believes it is entitled to everything and throws a fit every time they don't get their way.

Know that I thought about it, he is right in someways. But people wouldn't have the opportunities in some aspects if it wasn't for the older generations. But every generation has there good and bad.

Some would say the Boomers' main fault is, through their hard work and desire for their kids to have a better childhood than they did, spoiling their children and instilling a sense of entitlement in them. Everyone gets a trophy...

As a proud Boomer, I tried.

I ran a rather large recreational soccer association for 7 years, about 800 kids from age 7 - 20. We had 3 tournaments each season in addition to 2 games a week during the summer.
Anyway, we awarded participation this to the U8 Division only. U10, 12, 15, 1
20 were all competitive awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd finishes.
Parents were pissed at me for not awarding participation for the u10's to.
Oh well, lol.

I think there's some truth to this, but think about this situation which is not uncommon in my generation:

One of my buddies, 29, is married and is a teacher and a coach. His wife is a teacher as well. Home prices has inflated so drastically over the past 20 years that 2 professionals literally could not save enough money to buy a modest house in the suburbs. They have had to live with relatives for two years to save enough to TRY to be competitive with other buyers.

So this is where the narratives clash. They are not loafers or developmentally stunted to adolescence, but they are forced to live "at home" if they ever want to own a home of their own.

I could be wrong, but I just dont think that was a reality 30 years ago.

What I'm saying is that conditions are different. These narratives are born partially from truth and partially from circumstance

So my old man was telling me this morning about how this whole pandemic has him worrying in ways that he hasn't worried since he was a little boy. Now, we worry about COVID and ventilators. Back then, he said, it was iron lungs and poliomyelitis(sp?).

And I said, Pop, I never heard of poliomyelitis, but for a while in college I was gravely stricken by raggaemylitis.

I'm honestly disgusted by at least half of the people of my generation.. spineless, gutless, mindless drones. No sense of duty or allegiance. Traditional wisdom learned and delveloped over millennia thrown by the wayside for comeplete societal degeneracy because, you know, feelings, and being "progressive."

I know that the children I have will certainly not be raised on TV, social media and the internet. No (frank)ing way.

Like my Grandfather use to say. If these young Bastards would work as hard as they female doged, this Country wouldn't be going to poop. That was 10 yrs ago, laughed it off, but pretty true.

It's tough, I try to keep my kids to a 1 hour a day, on there phones or Xbox or Playstation. But so much stuff is done by social media, even in school teacher's don't teach they do videos. I never used a calculator when I was in school, taught to work everything out on paper, know that's all they use. So much has changed in the last 20 yrs.

Haha, I was about to say that.

Bought Civ 5 for my pc... can’t even load it. Makes u get steam and steam doesn’t support it.

Civ 6 for switch is the worst thing ever.

- Da_Cashman

I agree on all of this.

Civ VI is identical to Civ V aside from some minor differences. Civ V was good but could get very boring, and Civ games tend to get boring as it is.

I had VI on the switch and hated it.

All I will say is I'm positive he didn't work at the steel plant for 35 years so you could use his work-ethic as a badge of honor to try and d!ck-down "millennials" on a hockey forum.

I'd be ashamed of you if I were him.

I don't assume all are loafers, that wasn't at all what I was trying to convey. I know it's hard to make it nowadays. I was mostly ripping on the stupidity of the arbitrarily drawn lines to divide people into categories. Not at all trying to say everyone of a certain age are all the same, as everyone wasn't raised the same way. I was just saying the whole need to break everyone in categories with their labels is rather stupid, everyone is different.
I was also ripping on the people who first created this sense of entitlement in their children, that many current adults exhibit today. Like the ones coming in for entry level job, with no knowledge or experience, expecting $18/20 an hr to start. Then get pissy and indignant when I tell them that they would start much lower than that and then earn raises as they learn more. They seem to think that they should start halfway to the top.
