Getting tired, are people still being decent with the curbside pickup. My wife works at Tops and she says people are getting nasty with some stuff. - Buff36
Yeah we’ve had a few issues.
Mainly just trying to figure it all out. It’s a learning curve as we’re not known as a takeout place. I described it as prohibition. You either adapt and figure it out that we’re not a bar for a couple of months or you go under. I don’t see 5 places re-opening/surviving this when it’s all said in done. The places that stick it out and stay open through this will come out stronger at the end. The public will remember you were open and risked health to make sure people could eat.
Like I told Gerbe: you have no idea the amount of people that can’t cook/rely on takeout. |

There are many goaltenders available in UFA this year that could be a stop gap. Halak, Khudobin, Greiss come to mind. Raanta has one year left on his deal in Arizona but if they are looking to shed salary I’d bite.
I have no idea what he plans to do with Hutton but it’s clear that the guy is terrible.
UPL needs to spend the entire year in the AHL and continue his development. - Pegullaville
You seem to have a hate for certain players and based on that you have a skewed look at how to build a contender. If you are saying bringing in a goaltender like Greiss or Halak then adding a Center like Strome from Chicago and the playoffs are there, I’d say dream on. Absolute no difference because the rest of the core is still there and that’s what you build a team around. Time to find out who the core guys are and build around them or move on.
I have been saying all along the GM either has to sh!t or get off the pot. Either Ullmark is a number one or move on. Either Casey is a top 6 or move on from him. Take gets an extra year then he’s in or out. Let them sink or swim. Hogwash to the stopgap. When you blow an engine a new battery does nothing. |

Yeah I can see what you're saying with the learning curve. This is gonna affect a lot of places. Are you guys allowed to go for that small business perk that was put in that stimulus package |

The dominant mindset I have seen on here is that the team needs just a few tweaks, albeit at key positions...Keep the LOG Line, resign Vesey, keep Johansson, insert Mitts and give Tage another shot, etc.
I'm of a different opinion, as save for Jack, the team plays a boring-ass style of play that just doesn't excite me, slow and methodical, and mentally weak to boot.
I'd rather the new GM goes in a much different direction based on speed, puck position with a bit of truculence thrown in, but emphasis on maintaining puck possession that is productive. Defense should be balanced with a swift puck-mover and a more defensively aware partner. |

I feel like I’m very impartial with my takes on this website. I am mostly on an island and have differing view points from the majority on many issues (Jeff Skinner contract, Tage Thompson as viable top 9 option).
I leave emotion out of it and look at the team as a whole and I don’t expect many people to see things as I do but I’m always thinking outside the box and trying to be ahead of the curve.
I’m right on a lot of things, but I’m also wrong as well. I don’t remember many people agreeing with me to bottom out for Cozens last year as the tank commander (Homie was one of the few) but now people can’t wait to slot him in the top 6.
I also ignored the signs from Mittelstadt’s draft year and draft +1 year production in college and used sample size bias from international tournaments and drank the koolaid that he’d be an impact contributor right away and I was so dead wrong.
The truth is, this team defended very well this year and Hutton and Jonas Johansen costed us easily 8 points in the standings this year from terrible goaltending play.
A 2nd line center would have been able to up the production of Jeff Skinner and would have given us a secondary scoring line.
There is a huge difference between playoff contender and cup contender. With those two moves we would have most definitely have been in the consideration as a playoff team and I think we would have made it. |

Where is the line on Reinhart's contract value before you would trade him? - IonSabres
His market value, imo, is $7-7.5M so anything above that. I'm not a particular fan of his play, but he produces and probably will produce for a long time. |

I don't think the players would go along with any such plan that would isolate them from their families for such an extended time during this outbreak. I'm afraid this NHL season is toast. At this point it seems we'll be lucky if next season can start on time in October. MLB will be lucky if they get even half a season in, and hopefully the NFL season isn't delayed. |

Ya. I'm not a Sam hater and not everyone can play with Jack, I recognize that. Yet, I think he benefits significantly playing with him, so his value is somewhat overstated. He isn't alone in that regard as other players benefit playing next to certain superstars (i.e. Sheary with Crosby).
I agree, $7.5m and it gets real dicey for me.
If he could get me a solid 2C, I'd move him. |

I would find it hard to believe sports returning to normal by Sept/Oct unless a highly effective vaccine was developed, mass-produced and mass-administered by then.
Without it, we are opening ourselves up to a resurgence in infections.
I'm not sure it is true, but I heard some reports that Chinese who had recovered have become re-infected. If true, that is a bad sign. |

If Calgary would take Reinhart as the main part of a trade for Monahan, along with other pieces of course, sign me up. |

It already feels like the off season. How long of a hiatus will it be? It seems they're going to have almost an off-season's worth of time off before they can even try to finish the season. Will it even feel like a continuation from early March? I'd like to see playoffs, but after so long it'll feel like the start of a new season. They will need to have a mini training camp to prepare for whatever bastardized version of the playoffs they can squeeze in. (Calgary just said there will be no large gatherings, including Flames games, through the end of June.) Can't help but wonder if they'd be better off just starting fresh in October. It sucks, it was going to be an interesting last few weeks of the season heading into the playoffs. |
