I'm torn on him. He's a good player, but a complimentary player. Gerbe comparing him to Sharp might even be a bit generous.
We need a player like Reinhart on this team, but not at anything more than 7.5, and I wouldn't sign him for more than 3 years at 7 million right now and let him either walk in FA in 3 years or try to extend him based on his performance before he can. - BeadyEyedDouche
Thats exactly what Botts should do. |

Clearly you think he's not going to be a career sabre then?
What do you see in sam that brings you to that opinion?
Guy has never played in an nhl playoff game, but you expect him to win 16 playoff games a year (twice)
Soft and non chalant is not playoff stanley cup hockey

I'd be fine with sam at 6.5 for 6 years.
Contract expires with jack.

Both parties should swallow their pride and just do it. |

From what I can tell, Gerbe unknowingly does the Keto-diet and if true, his piss most definitely smells as bad as his feet. - BeadyEyedDouche

If we end up with Raymond or Holtz, I’d trade Reinhart to Minny for Brodin tomorrow. |

As long as he doesn't go over 7mill I would keep him, if he wants more then that I am fine with trading him. He helps Jack like Jack helps him. Go get a legit 2C or 2RW that can compliment Skinner and get a good 1A goalie and go from there. |

I’ll never understand why players don’t though.
I guess it’s easy for me to say cause I don’t have anyone handing me a 6-8 year deal with guaranteed money but the salary cap always goes up.
I would never sign anything longer then 3 years and continue to sign at market value every 3 years.
If Sam were to sign for 7M per, 3 years from now he’d be getting Eichel money. |

Definitely
Sam helps Jack, there is a comfortablity with them.
At some point, shouldn't the roster get some new faces?
Not sure why everyone wants to defend any of these losers?
We have been terrible since we drafted sam. |

I think agents play a major part in these decisions.
Injury risk factors are probably real.
Btw : I hope you're safe up north. We are in this together. 👊 |

The only silver lining about GMTM franking up that pick is that we were able to change over ownership and patiently build this thing up like we should have in the first place.
Attribute it to happenstance, luck, or incompetence on his part but during Botts’ administration we have been able to select more high end talent with Dahlin, Cozens, and whoever we get this year. Mittelstadt should still have value and can be used as a trade chip or hopefully the kid takes his career seriously so he can become the top 6 forward his raw skills indicated when he was selected and that we see spurts of.
Along with the moves for Joker, Pilut, Kahun, Ruotsalinen there is some intriguing young pieces in the fold.
I’m very happy to be here.
