Although I agree with your post, I'm not sure the nhl is a 1 size fits all league. Guys develop differently.

Just like going away to college, it lets these guys be kid's for another year. Good and bad

- Boss34

you are right

some have the drive and work ethic right away, some don't

just like those leaving home and going off to college

some get it right away, some have 1 setback

some are career college students

Solid post

That's why the "girgerenko was mishandled" doesn't always apply.

Seems like casey could or should have started in the ahl with tall tage .

If Monahan is truly on the outs in Calgary, they need to go after him.
- kingcong39

Monahan, Barkov, Seguin, Schenn, Karlsson, Cirelli

I would overpay for any of those guys

and if Kopitar got bought out, I would offer him 2 years 25 mil

I look at RoR and Pastrnak

one picked at 33rd spot, one picked at 25th spot

both proved right away they belong in the NHL

I think the bigger problem is lack of work ethic on some of these kids out of the gate

make them watch miracle every night during their first training camp

He was impeached moron. Maybe the daily caller or whatever moronic website you get your lies from didn’t tell you that, but he was impeached by the house of representatives.

It’s really amazing the mental gymnastics you guys will go through to believe the crap you post on here daily.

But you’re probably right. Trump is an amazing intellect with a gift for pick if speaking. He is never wrong, always right, and cares deeply for America. Never steals or works against American values and policies. And even more impressive, always writes his own speeches before giving them. Never speaks off the cuff and neve had bone spurs. Never took Russian help, Mexico is definitely paying for the wall that is almost finished. He never partied with Epstein and would never cheat on his chaste and modest genius wife.

Even better, Jared Kushner is even more of an intellect, on par with Einstein or hawking. Solving every problem around the world and never pocketing taxpayer money!

It is simply the mean newspaper article and TVs news people who always seem to want to make him loon bad by telling people what he says using his own words! Imagine that!

I think these players a coddled these days, some of them are so talented and there there athleticism carries them through things that they forget that it takes hard work sometimes

Nice show of respect from Matthews today.

On an Instagram live session with the Biebs he was asked about the toughest player he’s ever faced and the first player he brought up was Eichel and how strong he is, followed it up with McDavid noting his speed.

Thought it was interesting

I think with Mittelstadt is that he could get away with everything cause he had the raw skill level.

Well the NHL is a different animal. If he can figure it out though I still think he’ll be a good player in this league but it’s ultimately up to him at this point.

That Seguin contract looks like an albatross.
Can’t see Kopitar being bought out either
Schenn just re-upped
Monahan, Cirelli, and Barkov are going to bring a kings ransom.
Karlsson is probably the cheapest to obtain.

This is why I wanted to bottom out for Cozens last year when everyone was hoping to make the moves to “win now”

It’s a very rare instance that you can trade for a star player in his prime, or even a player with a contract that doesn’t want to make you throw up.

Draft, develop, pay your own own.

If that's true, what does Calgary need and do we have the players to put a package together to get him.

2 guys that will be 32 when the next season starts. Well you know everyone has there opinions. I would take Granlund at 28 or 29 depending on when the Hockey starts again, compared to 32.
- Buff36

Dadonov just turned 31
Hoffman turns 31 to START next season

I’d sacrifice the few years in age for guys that are productive every year

I’m just not signing either to a long term deal

Is it that bad? Saw he went to hospital but didn’t know how bad
- Fattony1187

They said he went for tests, but who really knows why he went. Maybe they want to get a CT, can't get that at home, even 10 Downing.

Start with this year's unprotected first and Mittelstadt. Also have to strike before the 10-team no-trade kicks in. I assume the start of the new league year will be moved, so that's doable.

1st and Mitts would be an easy yes for me. If Cozens, it would have to be a top-5 protected first

And a recent post I saw on another site had compared Karlsson's path to Cheechoo's, which would be worrisome. I think I would pass at this point and look elsewhere.
Still on the Monahan and Bennett for Reinhart and Montour trade. Would add Lucic and Okposo if it would help make the deal.

I saw him 3 or 4 times in college and he had to work for everything he got. The Big-10 is a tough conference. I honestly don't think he's physically ready for the NHL and he may not be fully ready for another year or two.

My proposal as the core of the trade was Reinhart and Montour for Monahan and Bennett.
