As overdose deaths spike in Vancouver, firefighters – almost always first on scene in the city's DTES – are being ordered not to respond to most OD calls due to #COVID19 precautions

Hate to say it, but this might help clean up the drug problem in the DTES, won't be many homeless or drug users left there because of ODs not being saved and them having compromised immune systems due to their lifestyles/drug problems/etc. that will make them susceptible to COVID-19. Where can they self-isolate anyways? Shelters are being (or will be) used to triage COVID-19 patients eventually so, yeah.
