I prefer no compliance buyouts or any kind of breaks to clubs for contacts they signed. They should have to live with their mistakes.
Clubs with cap space should get the credit and benefit of managing the cap. They should be able to fleece the desperate club's trying to get under the cap. - kaptaan

But they could if they needed to.
“China's military power is quickly becoming the greatest threat to US military primacy. From posturing in the South China Sea to damaging hacking campaigns, the Chinese government is investing more time and resources into its military strategy, and it shows.
A June report from the Center for a New American Security, co-authored by former Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert O. Work, outlines the ways China's strategy and technology threaten to best the US in a great power struggle — and what the US can do to maintain its military primacy.” - LeftCoaster
People lined up to tell me this was crazy talk a year or two ago. Its not just the size and mobilization... Russia and China have developed weapons that stand off aircraft carrier groups so far from shore they cant reach targets with their planes neutralising America's biggest conventional muscle in their entire arsenal.
China's new crappy stealth plane was laughed at. F-22 would shred it. They laughed until serious people at the Pentagon called it a game changer because it can fly out on the ocean towards a carrier group and send hyper sonic missiles that USA has no defense for yet. This can all be done undetected from far outside the range of America's air patrols. Russia is ahead of China with this strategy. Probably who China stole the tech from.
Also, China has introduced an anti ship ballistic missile with a range of 2500km. America has been focused on dominating the underdeveloped countries for so long, their rivals are getting ahead of them on the things that matter the most... standing off America's navy and air support.
Also, America is behind on air defense but even during the old cold war, the Soviets were ahead of them in that regard but now China has pulled ahead making it both their biggest rivals.
If you watch a lot of TV, this sounds impossible. If you are well informed, it's old news. |

2nd largest country in the world & only 35m ppl & an export surplus nation is our situation. Resource rich & most of the worlds fresh water. Therein lies the challenge. - Nighthawk
Kinda sounds like a lot less of a challenge than most if you ask me. |

Sounds like tryamkin is headed back, solves our replacing fentenburg issue.... now it’s just what to do with Stech. Probably cant afford him without cleaning out some lame contracts.
LE, Benn, Sutter need to go. Solves a lot of cap issues, Roussel, beagle would be the next teir down of guys to ship out imo. |

Benn is not an issue he has one year left at 2 mil . If you sent him down and brought up OJ the cap remains the same.
The rest I agree with |

Package Benn & Stecher for picks to someone who needs “D”. Perhaps Detroit, they only have a few guys signed for next year. They also have three 2nd round picks. |

I dont hate risto, but who plays with Quinn? Risto and Myers are both too unreliable to play top pair. Myers is pretty much playing ristos spot imo |

I read Botterill wants offensive help using Risto to acquire that. |

Benns cap goes away if you send him to utica? That seems unlikely but im into if so |

Did anyone read that article on Ferland?
I read it and it was interesting. He wasn't feeling pain or symptoms when he went back to Utica . His problem was the game was too fast for him to focus on . His brain was not reacting quick enough and he was out of sync.
I don't know where that leaves him going forward but I do know the response here will be shut him down. He says he is symptom free again |

No 1.1 mil of his two mil contract go away but you will be replacing him with a 800K player.
Also if Sven plays for Canucks it only cost them 1 mil seeing they pay the 2.33 anyways . |

Trading for Risto erases the worry of signing Tanev. I will wait for the "Are You Crazy " response. |

Seems like it’s much better to move him. You’ve got a lot pf people to sign, taking 2 mil off is an easy win. Get sutters 4 off as well. That makes 6, get loui off and we might actually be able to keep our ufas. Ive always though benning will be doing some housekeeping this summer, no need to keep players who aren’t playing on the books for any amount. |
