I don’t follow any trending talking head, couldn’t give two shits what they have to say.
If there is one wish I have with this virus, is that all social media is blown up and bankrupt, fuck twitter, instawhatever, kilckcock, fb, all of them. - Makita
Rick is a mouthpiece for agents. Huge grain of salt . Tanev will be back - CanuckDon
Does it matter if it is Tanev's agent saying no hometown discount?
RD talks a lot to agents but he also talks to the players and management.
Tanev has been linked to TOR for a few years now since he played with Rielly at the Worlds . I would not be surprised to see him in a Leaf sweater next year.
Another thing is half the league will be shuffling around to make a proper lineup if the cap stays the same. There will be other options.
Personally I don't want Tanev back for 4 years. Two years at the most.
How would you interpret "Unless their is a buy out or the cap goes up ,I don't think he will sign with the Canucks . He won't be giving a hometown discount , he won't be giving a hometown discount."
Ricks words on his interview - VANTEL
I stopped listening to Rick about Canuck contracts. He has been so ass backwards and full of panic. What little credit I give to someone like him in this business was lost when in my mind he was caught spreading fake news during the Boeser negotiations... Even Friedman outed him on it when the other Sportsnet hosts started grilling him over bad info and in a rare move, defended himself by putting it on 650 and Rick as the source of the not in the same galaxy rumors. It was a cluster of BS really.

He was way off on Boeser as was everyone . He was off on Edler as was everyone including Friedman.
Canucks have a pretty sharp guy at the helm right now with Chris Gear .
I said I agree with him in this case.
I try to do my homework when it comes to stuff like this. The cap will take an unexpected hit due to the virus. This will be a league wide problem .
I think Canucks had numbers planned around 4.5 for Marky and Tanev before the cap freeze . They were reasonable numbers at the start of the year but the value of the players went up throughout the year. They will probably have to chose one and say bye to the other.
He also breaks half the Canucks news before it happens . - VANTEL
No way. He has broken some stuff sure but when someone signs, the text go out pretty quick. That seems to get him a lot of credit but he is only beating others out by minutes and rarely hours on that kind of sourcing. Its not much of an insiders scoop... His reports on negotiations are bullpoop. His speculation is always hyperbole and many report his speculations as rumors on here. I can never understand why people cannot see the difference.
If rick was indeed this great insider people claim, then he wouldnt have been fired by 650 when they were trimming fat. This insiderr business sucks in a lot of followers/listeners. You could see the flock following him to 1040 when they let him go. Unfortunately for him, the other hosts at 650 laughed at his rumors over and over and Friedman had an issue with him over swearing his face off while his kids were listening to him and this was during the panic rant about Boeser that turned into no camp and long term 10m contract hold out BS. This was told on 650 by RickD himself who said he had to apologize to Eliot for freaking out. Couple of weeks later, Rick fired...
1040 hired him for the followers. Definitely not for his integrity.
Another integrity story about Rick. He was a radio host in Vegas. He got fired for showing up poop faced after no sleep and hosted a morning show. This story again is from Rick himself.
I re-posted it on page 18 with the big picture of Tanev . You really can't miss it . I even pointed out listen to the last two minutes twenty seconds so you don't need to listen to the whole thing

Off on Boeser is a understatement. He had an elaborate story of doom and gloom right up to the moment the contract was signed and he spread pure bullpoop we find out. He didnt just report the usual "I'm hearing" and tell a rumor and move on.... he spread weeks of panic. He never stopped arguing with people on it... all other reports were wrong, the callers who said it doesnt make sense were wrong... it was crazy. It wasnt a report... it was a daily routine. This is what I'm talking about and not simply being off on something you mentioned on a daily report like the others in the biz do. He pushed it balls to the walls. To me, that is the Alex Jones of the insider business.

Fair enough! He did mention a big “unless” there, but yes he did also say exactly what you said. I was looking on twitter for it and saw nothing. I still think he’s wrong. All he’s really saying is he wont take a hometown discount. Big deal. If they buyout LE and trade sutter, bury or trade roussel and benn he’s in there. He’s assessing the possibility with the roster held static, but why would it be? Lots jb can do to clear space imo.
He was that good when he was here, everyone remembers his size but not his lack of effort. JT Miller will make him cry on his first day at practice. - Marwood
