How does that make them not an employee? No, there is certainly not a C19 clause, but there are all kinds of other clauses, like escrow for example.
Players are employees of the NHL, their money is not guaranteed, it’s based on a share of total revenue. - 1970vintage
Not guaranteed then dump Loui like the NFL can. Eg Antonio Brown. Cap savings voila.

I read his popularity amongst Americans is at an all time high - LeftCoaster
It's seen a bump, as have all global and local leaders as people tend to support them during a crisis.
In comparison to other leaders, he's barely moved the needle. His popularity will soon be at an all time low as thousands of americans die daily. |

Are all the guys in AZ guaranteed their salaries if the team folds? We need to think outside the box, salaries will be re-structured. |

That is a tough question. 1st off I don’t see the NHL allowing a team to fold in season. Sold yes & the league has propped them up before. As for restructuring contracts that’s for bargaining & I’d suspect requiring a new CBA |

I believe player contracts are with the NHL, not with the Coyotes. So if the team folds, I believe players would be required to play out their contracts with a different team (under normal circumstances). But the money they earn isn’t “guaranteed”. There is escrow for when league revenue doesn’t match projections, there are buyout windows where teams can terminate an employee, there are non-compliance terminations (show up to camp fat, fail to report to the minors etc). |

Contracts are with a team & registered with the league. The NHL pays players nada. |

His approval rating went up, but so did his disapproval rating. They're basically neck and neck right now.
He boosted his rating with financial packages, but this virus will still be going strong well past when that money is spent. |

Anyways, I actually have to go out shopping. Stocks are running low and i'm back to work next week. I was trying to set up on-line delivery or pickup but nothing available for at least a week.
I'm hoping they finally have some staples around so I can replenish those. |

In Washington, D.C., President Donald Trump on Friday said his administration is encouraging many Americans to wear face masks in public, though he stresses that the recommendation is optional and conceded that he will not be complying with it.
Firstly, why the (frank) are people being encouraged to wear face masks in public. They shouldn’t be in public.
Secondly, you should do this, but I won’t, it makes my hair look funny... |

Allowing them to fold?
You could be looking at a 2 year no public gatherings when you are asking unemployed people to buy hockey sweaters?
If players say no , there may not be a league to go back to. They will lose 400 mil is revenue this year, do you think if there is no league next year they are willing to loose a billion or two?

I just read Harmac in Nanaimo is the major supplier of material for 3M to produce their masks. They’re ramping up production. |

3M gets most of their raw material from Canada , that is why they told Trump by doing
that will mean less masks for US |
