What number are Canucks drafting ? - VANTEL
This is the real interesting part. Not doing the draft is not even slightly relevant, really never needed to be a live event in the first place. |

Enjoy your time together. - VANTEL
Thanks.
I've been pretty fortunate the last 10 years or so. We fish in a typical year around 50 days together. We've spent a lot of time in some very special places in this province like up the Skeena or Chilco to name a couple. Before he moved up to the Cariboo we did a big trip somewhere every year for a couple of weeks(96-2008). Horseback hunts off the Alaska Hwy, float plane into a lake near the Yukon to fish and hunt, beach camp on west side of the Charlotte's(Rennell Sound) fishing for salmon etc. No matter what detours he took in life, his obsession for the outdoors would remain into his old age and probably saved him along the way.
Just two weeks ago he bought a new fly rod and started doing maintenance on the gear getting ready for spring ice off. He paid off his credit card over the winter so he would afford his fall Salmon trip no matter what because at his age you never know he said. He's 71. His father lived til 96 or 97... He's right, you never know. |

A friend of mine showed me a pic of a street in Toronto yesterday. Blue latex gloves and masks thrown everywhere. People just toss on the spot before they get in their car to go home. Its piling up fast.

The hospitals are being pretty strict about things. My father is alone in an empty ward(cleared for pandemic) and no visitors allowed. There's no phone in his room. His cel phone battery died and they wont charge it for him. We've barely talked more than a few minutes a day to conserve battery power but it died over night. They told him "no" for me to drop a charger at the door security but I called and pressed them. They can disinfect it no problem. Its in a package anyways. They didnt put up a big argument but I know my father would take the no and not bring it up again. Pretty heartless... he's alone and definitely scared.
They might let him leave tomorrow but it will only be for a couple of days they think before he'll have to check into 100 Mile hospital on a one way trip. They already presented him with do not resuscitate form. At least we will have a couple of days together. I can't bare to think when I dropped him off for a CT scan, it was the last time we saw each other. All this worrying about throat cancer and it turned out negative. This liver failure is related to the medication screw up by his family doctor I think and possibly burnt out his liver which probably wasnt healthy to begin with. Those meds are for shaky hands... something some people in my family start getting in their 30's. This doctor may have shed a couple years off his life. - boonerbuck
Best to you and your Dad.

I’m sorry you guys are going through that man. I’m going through something similar with my grandma, who raised me. She’s in her early 80s, but she was always healthy and active and then boom, major stroke. Now the only word she can say is “other” (which makes for some interesting conversations) and more often then not doesn’t know who I am. And obviously we can’t go see her now and I’m not sure she understands why.
Getting old sucks, although I suppose it’s better than the alternative.
