I used me as an example. Replace me with someone more important than me on the front lines, say a nurse working with covid patients. Shouldn't she (or he) get the something extra, not the person staying home relatively safe? It just seems a little wrong. I get what you're saying though, thank you for that. - Sir Tindoom
I agree, people out there still doing there jobs deserve it. |

I agree with this, grocery store workers here in Canada are getting an extra 2 dollars an hour but our nurses haven’t gotten a pay raise yet. - Pegullaville
Do they have contracts like most nurses that work in hospitals here do? |

I could be making $750 on unemployment or making $650 working 30hrs a week and be able to take a free meal home 5 days a week.
I chose the later. - dadeadhead

Should they be punished for something that's not their fault though? And I'm guessing healthcare workers are getting pooploads of OT. - Wetbandit1
This is also true, didn’t think of that.

Possibly the neighbour was furloughed and didn’t have a choice ? - Pegullaville
My neighbor is an ex-military hard working SOB. He is non-essential lay-off. |

Partly, it still doesn't cover the added danger, but also, when you sign up you sign up for the dangers inherent in the job, this is one of those dangers. There's no "right" thing. Just degrees of poop. |

They are unionized. My girlfriend just started so she is working part time.
Her mother is full time at a private hospital.
Full time is 48 hours a week and they have base salaries that increase with years of service.
I’m not sure if that helps answer the question or not but that’s all the info I got for now. |

I know they’re talking about the possibility of a $25,000 hazard pay to those on the front lines making less than $200k. - dadeadhead
Well now, that would certainly be a silver lining. I will have to look into this. Thank you sir. |

So they may not be able to negotiate a raise. They could always strike, but that would be a very bad idea unless some real heinous poop was happening. |

Don't be surprised if you see a local grocery store around these parts go on strike by the end of April. |

So basically every nurse.
I'm not saying they don't deserve it, they're the ones that actually keep you alive when you're in the hospital. But where is that money coming from? There are roughly 3 million RNs in the US, let's say 2 million work in a hospital, that's $50B. And that's just RNs, what about orderlies and all the doctors that don't make $200K? |

You’re right! The silver lining could be that Dylan Strome turns out to be a way more effective player than Mitts...and we only had to add a a low round pick. It’s certainly possible. |

I'm still hoping we get Granlund too, just so I know my "source" is legit. |

We got Lucas Raymond in the Athetlic’s Beat Writer Mock Draft of the top 15 picks this morning.
Would be a solid addition to the prospect ranks. |
