Monahan wins faceoffs, but he is not good defensively.

I also do not want only Larsson as the long defensively responsible center on the roster with Cozens left to be potentially eaten alive on the road.

Unless Bonino costs a ton, I would absolutely go after him too.

Nothing really went wrong. He's always been a pretty mediocre centre who gets hot a couple of times a year. He just got less hot this year. He kind of peaked at 21.

Last year was the first time he was a consistent top guy for a long stretch, and even then he disappeared after the all-star break.

Look what happened to Gaudreau’s production this year too since the Center play was lacking.

Like I’ve said from the beginning, there are really just a few wingers league wide that can drive a line from the wing. Gaudreau is one of those one may include in that elite tier.

Gaudreau at least has a very good cap hit for his services.

They might have to. The turnaround window between this season and next is growing smaller and smaller. They're not going to just up and play games again. They're going to need at least 3 weeks to get back into shape and practice. Even that's probably on the low end.

There's all sorts of speculation out there for the NBA, from cancelling outright to playing a shortened season "quarantined" in one location like Vegas.

All I know is that the NHL won't resume its season unless the NBA does.

Fwiw before I fake traded for Strome I talked to Todd about Monahan and his price for him was significantly lower than anything I've seen in the comments so far.

On the other hand, Kent Wilson did a mock lineup where he moved Monahan and Jankowksi for Miller, Cozens and a 1st round pick
