Yeah, he can
The question is: are you willing to hang onto him until he can't
The way I look at it, he's got the warning signs of a guy who needs a change of scenery to wake him up, like Kassian, Zadorov or Nylander - jcragcrumple
Depends what we could actually get for him
These Mitts + a 1st for guys like Strome just doesn’t do it for me
I don’t see how Strome fits here long term with Cozens as our 2C
And Mitts has a higher ceiling
Wasn’t he rated the 2nd best talent not in the NHL just a couple seasons ago?
Selling low on that kind of talent is a bad idea
So is overpaying our of desperation for a 2C when we have Cozens, and even Mitts |

He didn't quite light up the AHL, which the projections should have shown he would have been able to.
If there is an opportunity for a proven player, you make the move. I don't know if Strome is the guy, but if you feel you are making your team better you have to make the move. |

Sure
But it’s gotta be more like a 1b for me
Otherwise,
just get a bridge guy & let Cozens grow to take the 2C role when he’s ready....
which could be sooner than later btw |

Or he could take longer.
Projections are far from accurate.
Getting a 1B right now, wouldn't make sense with the idea that Cozens could take the 2C in a year. It never hurts to have depth down the middle. |

I've never heard of him
Could we have a 30 page breakdown of who he is?
What are his strengths? I'm assuming he has zero weaknesses. Does he like to work out in obscure ways? |

Did u just go with their first 113games?
Or did u take into account the age at which they played in those games?
Bc it’s not really a fair comparison if there were guys who started at say age 20 or 21 vs Mitts starting at 19 - jdfitz77

You know what would be nice ? Getting one of Byfield, Rossi, or Lundell and having one of those players along with Cozens hit their projected ceilings giving us the best Center depth in the Atlantic.
While all being young and able to play here for the next 10+ years. |
|
|
|
New estimates saying only 60,000 people will succumb to virus. Economy will be open up by June, maybe they will fit the sports seasons in. Still time to tank our last games |

Sure, but to grab 1 of those studs, outside of Lundell, I would imagine you would have to pick higher than 7th, while Lundell at 7th is a reach right?
If it was between Holtz or Raymond, I'm leaning towards Holtz myself. I like the idea of Cozens and him together, maybe with Olofsson. |

I wouldn’t be surprised at this point to see Rossi sitting there at 7 if NHL teams have similar lists that NHL Central Scouting has.
I personally wouldn’t think that Lundell is a reach either. He is probably one of the safest picks in this years draft in terms of having a high floor. |

Those estimates presume that the lockdown is a Wuhan style lockdown, and that people will comply with it.
Our lockdown is not Wuhan style.
We have people jumping on planes to go get a tan. |

Need to find a away to get the economy moving with less restrictive mitigation efforts yet still controlling the spread at a manageable levels.
To be clear, I not saying to flip the switch, rather perhaps turn the dimmer dial a bit. |

Rossi is turning into my favorite prospect that we could have reasonable expectations to acquire.
I've seen him moving up in various mocks/rankings though. Holtz in terms of finishing, size and position of need. Selecting a LW isn't a need, but I also get the BPA concept especially if the difference is value justifies it. |

They were revised estimates from Dr. Fauci based on what the US has been doing already and would continue to do until mid May |

Perfetti is my least favourite of the “big 8” so to speak.
Honestly can’t go wrong with any one of Lafreniere, Byfield, Stutzle, Rossi, Raymond, Holtz, Lundell. |

Wrong. They’re from the IMHE
Read the assumptions. “Full social distancing through the end of May”
60,000 total deaths.

Senior White House adviser Anthony Fauci said Thursday the death toll from the coronavirus could be closer to 60,000 Americans, assuming full social distancing, rather than the previously projected 100,000 to 240,000 deaths.
"The real data are telling us that it is highly likely that we're having a definite positive effect by this mitigation things that we're doing – this physical separation – so I believe we are gonna see a downturn in that,” Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told NBC's "Today" show.
“And it looks more like the 60,000 than the 100,000 to 200,000,” he said.

It's a great question, and needs to be discussed as we begin to move into the next phase of this crisis. I don't have the answer, never claimed to either. I do know the answer can't be a sort of "at all risks" answer either.
Needs to be balanced with the risk ruining the economy. I think that is very pragmatic.
JP Morgan just issued a projection that the economy could suffer a 40% drop, while another projection pegged it at 25%.
I haven't looked it up, so off the top of my head, that seems to me to be entering Depression era numbers.
So, no. No need to open the bars to full capacity as is a "flip the switch" mentality. But a continued, full stay at home directive except for essential workers for months longer can't be the answer either.
