It really makes no sense. You're going to have to be quarantined when you arrive, before you can even go out and do anything. Then, when you are allowed to leave your room, everything tourist related is closed. Hell, every bar and restaurant is closed. Not to mention that many people aren't very receptive of strangers right now, either.

So why increase the possibility of it happening by adding on to the list above?

Couple of things:

When I bar-tended, I made the first drink strong. Almost always resulted in a guy coming back waving the tip in the air wanting that next strong drink. And he gets it, just a little weaker.

Few drinks in they sling dollars at you and end up drinking sugar water by the time they leave, if you pace them.

They get drunk, I get tipped, and they sober up a little for the drive home. Everyone wins.

I also bartended in a private club, so getting yuppie douche-bags sloshy and taking their money while doing it was pretty awesome.

Also, beer isn't dirty water. Coffee is.

I've heard of some being greeted by LEO at the airport and being informed of what's required of them. If you go to a hotel, I think they will require it. The hotel staff will be leery of you, something will be said/done if you flaunt the protocol. I've also heard of interstate checkpoints informing those arriving of the rules. If you have a private residence to go to, the neighbors will know what's up, and probably call the law on you if you're out and about. I imagine enforcement is extremely difficult. I'm sure you could get around it if you're selfish and determined enough. I haven't heard of anyone facing any repercussions for not isolating themselves.

This is no longer about a virus. This is something much, much more serious and frightening.

We are literally having our rights and civil liberties taken from us right now. We are seeing a global shift in capitalism and economics. We are entering closed borders, "social distancing", no public voting, a President who has said repeatedly he wants to serve more than 2 terms in office, who is buddies with Putin, basically his (frank)ing idol at this point. Every single country has elected conservative leaders and become tribal chimps.

Sheeple. I count my blessings but I refuse to have my rights taken from me.

This virus hopefully will cull the weak and society can completely restructure itself and if I'm a number, it's out of my control but I will be GOD DAMNED if I let this Administration take my rights and freedoms away from me.
