Depends what we could actually get for him
These Mitts + a 1st for guys like Strome just doesn’t do it for me

I don’t see how Strome fits here long term with Cozens as our 2C
And Mitts has a higher ceiling

Wasn’t he rated the 2nd best talent not in the NHL just a couple seasons ago?

Selling low on that kind of talent is a bad idea

So is overpaying our of desperation for a 2C when we have Cozens, and even Mitts

- jdfitz77

It's not selling low if his value continues to fall. It's selling high.

I'd say most people here have completely punted on him being a 2nd line center for the Sabres. Now the hope is he'll make it as a top-6 winger

I'm not afraid to lose him at all. Even if he pans out. As long as I get a real center in the trade, I'm all set

I wouldn’t be surprised at this point to see Rossi sitting there at 7 if NHL teams have similar lists that NHL Central Scouting has.

I personally wouldn’t think that Lundell is a reach either. He is probably one of the safest picks in this years draft in terms of having a high floor.

- Pegullaville

I would take Lundell in a second if Raymond is gone by 7, kid just looks like Bergeron

That's it, if you can get someone that helps know, do it.

Could you explain Depression Era numbers to me? Others may understand but I do not. A little help would be great.
- TC4145

Right now it's hard to compare the numbers but I think it's just simple reality that if a full shutdown continues IMO through May this would be worse than the Great Depression. The key area to watch is when does "temporary" become permanent. Q2 unemployment numbers are going to be through the roof, but the hope is that most of that will recover. I also think those numbers will be "take it with a grain of salt" because most folks will continue to collect due to the $600 kicker. Also companies that want their PPP loan forgiven have until June 30th to rehire full staff count prior to shutdown. Q3 numbers are going to be a huge indicator to check on that temporary vs. permanent. But what needs to be factored in is that unlike the Great Depression which had no pandemic fear factor, a lot of businesses aren't going to be able to snap back right away, it's going to take a tremendous amount of time to get people comfortable again.

I think your PPP assessment is a bit off. As an employer, you have until June 30th to APPLY. Once you receive the money, you have 8 weeks to spend it. If you spend it on payroll, payroll expenses, rent, mortgage - for loan identified expenses - you can apply for loan forgiveness. Otherwise, you have it pay it back at 4%.

I'd sell your heart to the junkman
Baby, for a buck, for a buck
If you're looking for someone to pull you out of that ditch
You're out of luck, you're out of luck
Ship is sinking
The ship is sinking
The ship is sinking

There's leak, there's a leak, in the boiler room
The poor, the lame, the blind
Who are the ones that we kept in charge?
Killers, thieves, and lawyers

God's away, God's away,
God's away on Business

Digging up the dead with a shovel and a pick
It's a job, it's a job
Bloody moon rising with a plague and a flood
Join the mob, join the mob
It's all over, it's all over, it's all over

God's away, God's away,
God's away on Business

-Tom Waits-

This is not how I see this situation at all, but this song was released in 2002 and we've still managed to stay afloat since. People are mostly good and strong. Just have to be strong enough to not want to flip that ejector-seat switch that lurks in the very darkest place of our heads.

Imports are going to affect businesses a lot even if the economy opens up somewhat. Unfortunately so many companies import there steel and other products to do there production. How fast does the government give the OK to start bringing stuff in from China or India, or even Canada.

Fair enough. My guess is there will be another financial stimulus package. BUT, I do not know.

The media thrives on Fear Porn.
- buffalofan19

It drives ratings, which ups the rate they can charge for advertising. It's not really about informing anyone of anything.
Either that, or it's just terribly slanted coverage seeking to drive an agenda.

Those estimates presume that the lockdown is a Wuhan style lockdown, and that people will comply with it.

Our lockdown is not Wuhan style.

We have people jumping on planes to go get a tan.

Probably, but that won't help in that aspect. But maybe it will make us a stronger Country because we will start doing more in house instead of buying out of country.

That may be true, but the $350BN tranche will dry up by mid-month, if not sooner. The second round of $250BN is currently being held hostage by the same people who have ran this country into the ground the last 25 years.

hopefully to some degree this happens. We shouldnt rely so heavily on china and india for medical supplies and medication. Especially when one of them hates us

Watching that 2006 playoff series against Philly was fun, got the blood pumping again. So much speed and talent on that team. Would have won the cup that year if we didn't get devastated by injuries.

IMHO, YES, all of them!

Term limits - install them now. NO ONE should be a millionaire when elected nor should they become a millionaire while in office. Once you eliminate the need to work to make money to live, you eliminate perspective.

I have nothing against making money as I am well enough off, but making our politicians millionaires is wrong.

Japan already offering Japanese companies who manufacture in China huge incentives to break from them and return home or move to another country.

I bet the US and other European countries will follow.
