My wife grew up in the Muskoka area, last fall when she went home to see her parents she drives right by there when she flys into Toronto, she picked some up and brought them home.

Sweet.

When I was a kid it was still relatively unknown. We used to stop for burgers all the time when heading home up north from the south.

After awhile, the place was just too packed. Who wants to spend more than an hour waiting for lunch when you have a 10 hour drive? I mean we were young, so you'd probably already stop at a beach or something along the way just to burn our energy a bit.

Sweet, i'm pretty sure I'll place an order soon. I have a HUGE cellar, even after I tuck the better part of 3 cords of wood into it. All kinds of room for wine, canning, root vegetables.

This is to stir the pot because I live alone and I'm beginning to hate my own company. I have a lot of trouble with the Canucks signing Boeser to a big money long term deal when the bridge deal is up. I think he should be dealt for a top four d-man asap and then Benning signs someone like Mike Hoffman who is practically the same player, but at a reduced price tag. I know he's had a tough time personally but i'm worried we've seen the best of Brock already
- Hardbalz

Top 2 D is what you want to trade for and that may be a route Canucks go with their forward assets if opportunity arises. They can sign Toffoli and no need for Hoffman. One of the Canucks D prospects should develop into a top 4 D sooner then later.

It’s an interesting situation in BC. In European wine producing countries there are all appellations that produce inexpensive “table wines”. In Spain, Italy etc you can grab litres of plonk, that is still decent for a few Euros. But the land is so expensive here that all our wine producing regions are “Napa Valley” or “Champagne” even though some of them don’t produce the quality of those places.

I’d add the US with places like the Central Valley - Woodbridge, Lodi etc. as cheap producers of decent quality.

- 1970vintage

The problem with the Okanagan is that the land is crazy expensive, about $300 000 per planted acre, and there isn’t much of it. For reds to get ripe, particularly Cab Sauv and Syrah, we have to drop a ton of fruit before the grapes turn colour. A climate with a longer growing season can yield 10 tons an acre of premium red fruit. We’re lucky to get 4.

We also don’t have good regions or poor regions. No matter where you are in the Okanagan you’ll have one winery producing excellent wines and neighbours on either side producing hooch, even though their vineyards literally touch each other.

Most regions produce really great wines in the vineyard, and that’s true here to an extent, but for the most part the difference between mediocre and excellent is largely down to winemaking.

I have a really good friend that has been living in Australia for years. In his words, "there's like 5 Okanagan valley's here with less than 1/3 of the population." We both spent 20 years in BC.

At retail level here there are rarely good deals on BC wine aside from the lower end stuff. Every now and then they'll do a regional buy and I can find something from Burrowing Owl or somewhere else at a decent price.

Usually though, best value here is Italy, France or California......occasionally Ontario.

Blame provincial liquor laws. It’s really hard for us to ship our wine East of Alberta. And once you factor in shipping there’s not much money in it for us. If we were able to produce more we’d find a way to get it out there, but about 80% of our wine goes straight to Vancouver so we don’t bother.

It’s even harder to find Niagara wine down here, and it’s impossible to find anything from Nova Scotia.

Oh yeah man I get it, then again NB has such a small population that when they do buy it's pricier. Less than 1M people in the province, about 3/4 of that.

I'm all for moving Tanev and Edler as you know but we need to back off on Brock a bit. Yes he is injury prone so far but if he plays full season he has the potential to get 40 goals. JV I'm indifferent on I still feel if Green used him properly he would succeed even more.

It's normally the same 5 teams every year:

CAR
NJ
ARZ
FLA
NYI

Jets building only seats 16,000 so not sure they typically fall into a poor attendance category. Carolina's #'s seem to be way over inflated. I have friends that attend quite a few home games there and they say there is maybe 9000 there...if that. Certain American markets like to inflate their attendance figures for the papers and such which I'm sure Bettman has a hand in to keep hockey in Non Hockey markets lol

The Sens will bounce way out of that when they get that club back on track. They never should have built a building there that seats 21,000.

The Islanders will be fine once they rebuild Nassau (which they're supposedly doing now) as moving them to Brooklyn was the worst decision ever. NJ will also bounce back once the team is decent again.

Easy. Make a trade or sign a free agent or pick up some one on waivers. No problem.

lol we lost the Sedins and didn't have to start over. I get what Tanev/Edler bring but we aren't going to win with them long term in the lineup IMO. Getting lucky with Hughes who is a potential Norris trophy guy you build around that and move on from the weaknesses. Plus we have Dmen coming up in the system that are showing well. Lots of options I think.

Edler has only another season. Tanev hard to say on what he will cost to stay. The point about other D men in the system is crucial as far as when they are ready. That doesn't seem like next season at best they take the bottom pair spots and work up.

As for trades and signings all possible just not easy to pull off. FA to replace will cost more then Myers as you're looking for top pairing. Trade costs will be top roster players and draft picks.
