Trade or luck out with a rookie. - VanHockeyGuy
so move out your best two defenders and hope for the best, back to a top5 pick we go! Also when my question about ufas and you go a different direction, not a good sign |

I was merely stating the D needs to be upgraded, didn't talk about moving anyone out.

Source - I’m hearing there has been some salary cuts to the #Canucks hockey operations staff. - VanHockeyGuy
Laying off operational staff making $50-$100k but buying out Lui’s remaining $8m is on the table |

I'm not saying that Edler/Tanev need to go this minute or even at the same time. For us to take the next step will will need a proper complement of D to build around Hughes. We aren't going to be winning anything big with Tanev and Edler here long term. I just remember the massive amount of whining 'what are we gonna do without the Sedins' 'how will we replace those points'?? and we are just fine lol. With Edler Tanev gone eventually we will be fine as well. |

Edlers points have gone down so he is now a pretty reliable Defensive guy . Tanev is the same and Stecher doesn't put up points.
If I am spending 6 mil on a Dman I sure want something better.
Canucks don't have a stud Dman in the waiting . Our guy is Hughes . Hughes looked very good with Schenn and he makes Myers look better also. I think you can pretty well put him with most Dmen.
I really hope Tanev decides to go to Tor so we are forced to try something different. |

I like Tanev but have no issues with moving him, my issue would be if he walked for nothing, that would piss me off. Either trade him now or sign and then trade or sign and keep.
Where is the asset management outrage from a few years ago.
Myers is worth keeping, great pick up by Benning |

Well he’s a pending UFA, who at best was getting you a 2nd at the deadline. Don’t think you get anything more than a 7th for his rights. So nothing really. |

I know Barrie isn't the best option, that said we do know JB was hot and heavy after him at the draft. He'd have to move a boatload of $ out, but I bet he'll be sniffing around. |

After that basketball thing you posted, there aren’t going to be any athletes worth $6m any time soon... |

Benning has f*cked up the cap enough that I don't think they could afford him. |

I can't see Barrie getting more than 4 mil.
I think it is a bad year to be a UFA with the situation of sports. I don't know what the answer is but I do think you can't complain about having 40-50 shots a night in one sentence and then say bring back the same guys in the next .
Canucks need to find a way to get the puck into the other end and less time in our end. |

I don't care what anyone says I like Ristolainen who puts up 40 pts a year and is salary controlled for two more years. |

Green was in the running for the Jack Adams Trophy. The best coach since Torts. |
