I think it’s totally ridiculous to even entertain getting the rest of the season in, to 82 games, not to mention trying to get the playoffs in, however, if they are going to do it there’s no fair and equitable way to do it, life isn’t fair sometimes....suck it up princess (Panarin).

Cut the season off at 68 games and go right into the playoffs with the first two rounds being best of five, then best of seven in rounds three and four, to accelerate the process.

That's a pretty good plan too.

It doesn't technically matter what Planarian thinks lol
There is really only two ways you can look at who makes the PO's.

Top 16 based off win % or whoever currently holds a PO spot right now under the current format. To have playoff credibility there would still need to be 4-7 game series unless they want asterix's all over there record books. Hopefully Bettman gets things rolling in July like he said.

Ranarin is just stating the obvious about being unfair but when the Rangers start to chime in or if Chicago chime in then you have some pretty heavy hitters complaining.

He’s got nothing to complain about, they weren’t in a playoff position, close, but not in.

I don't know about that. Canucks end up in the playoffs but were 4-5-1 in their last 10 games.

Maybe the best answer to do something if they are stubborn enough to finish it is an eight team playoff . Top 4 teams from each conference . Have a 23 team draft lottery with slightly better odds for the teams 21-31

Points percentage or a 68 game cutoff is fair for everyone. Just have a normal draft based on that.

Just because you like it doesn't mean it is fair. What if one of those playoff teams at game 68 has played 4 more home games than a bubble team or if a playoff team has a more difficult schedule in its remaining 14 games.

You are basically awarding a spot to a team that could have been knocked out.

You can’t go on hypotheticals, you can’t make everyone happy, if you’re going to get the playoffs in you’re going to have to make tough decisions and not everybody’s going to like it.

I’m just going by best guess scenario, but again, when you shorten the season you just can’t make it fair and equitable for everyone. Some teams won’t like it but they’ll have to live with it. At the end of the day the owners will decide and Gary Bettman will do whatever they wish.

An average professional NFL game lasts 3 hours and 12 minutes, but if you tally up the time when the ball is actually in play, the action amounts to a mere 11 minutes.

I was wondering how this will look on TV with no fans in the stadium?

A shortened season is fine for Canucks. with the three month layoff it will be like starting the season all over again. How many times did we hear "It's October"

Good morning!

Hope you had a good weekend.

New blog is up, with some updates on the NHL's planning as for a possible season resumption, KHL notes, and looks back at the 2011 Western Conference Final and some of the Canucks' most memorable all-time goals...

What? As of when? I thought they were just consulting provinces on wether or not it was necessary?

I know the PC government in NB is for it, but then again we've taken stricter measures than other provinces and so far only have just over 100 cases.

Most provinces are against it from what I've read.

Personally i'm fine with it if used properly. Deal with the virus, deal with the economy afterwards. Just deal with the (frank)ing virus so I don't have to deal with this poop for 2 more years. Eradicate while you try to vaccinate.

This slowing down bullpoop is a fine first line of defence, but is the plan really to cycle it in order to build herd immunity? That could take awhile.

The problem as illustrated is that all provinces have their own say within their own jurisdictions. Meanwhile, they all interact indirectly.

Dbot can correct me if i'm wrong but NZ has been pretty consistent from the beginning. We're shutdown for a month, after that we can at least open things up within the country. Borders will take longer. It seems to be working.

How we deal with the virus as growing season develops is somewhat critical to our food supply network for the coming year.

I’m tracking new infections to recovery ratio. So far infections still leading.

Panarin: 'Unfair' if Rangers left out of playoffs.

Have to agree with him , there is no fair way to determine who makes the playoffs unless they completed the schedule. Thirty two team bracket best 2 of 3 for first round then a 3 of 5 for the top 16 then regular 4 of 7.

- VANTEL

If they go based off 68 games for standings it is fair. Each team is on level playing field. Or they could play a few to even it out, say up to 74 games. Gives teams a chance to get in. Every team within 1 or 2 points of the playoffs feel it isn't fair they didn't get in.They could also cancel the 20/21 season and pick this one up next march Keep all contracts the same until then.
