I will be shocked if after this pandemic we come out on the other side offering 9 mil contracts.
I think sports and entertainment will take a big hit this year and even bigger hit next year. - VANTEL
Really?
You see an entire restructuring of NHL salaries?
|
|
|

There is that and also people not working for months won't be able to afford it unless ticket prices are 20 .00 - VANTEL
beer is still going to be $10 |

Where will they get revenue?
Why would you pay out 80 mil in salary to players only and make 50 mil as an operation?
The only revenue I can see coming in is from TV revenue split between 32 owners a league and all of its front office and players. |

Yeah the CBA is based on a percentage of the revenue, if the revenue drops salaries will as well. |

They are going to have to advertise like hell to get people to fill stadiums and arenas again. - A_SteamingLombardi
I don’t think advertising will do it. They’re going to have to take out about half the seats to allow enough room between people that they feel comfortable. They’re going to have to install hand wash stations and sanitizer pumps everywhere, food service people wearing masks.
Some of this is hyperbole, but this is where I fear things will be headed for business that caters to crowds... |

There is going to be a lot of hurdles to get over the next 24 months . Travel , crowd control , testing , arenas .
Like I said I watched SNL last night and it was brutal . |

I’m not to sure, I think the general population is getting tired of the continuous isolation message. My wife just went to drop off Easter goodies at her sisters and our son’s family. She just called to say that Matheson lake parking lot is packed, roads are packed, people are out and about everywhere.
I can see people coming back in droves after the isolation ban is lifted. |

SO basically you are looking at Barzal and Laine as the basis for Petterson. Laine 2 years 6.75m and Barzal undetermined. I think i am right in a 6-7 year deal around 9-10m for Pettersson. - Retinalz
Sounds about right to me. |

I feel the same way.
I mean, as a socialist I’d love to think this was the end of capitalism...just don’t think we’re there yet. |

Year round games means no training camp or exhibition games. Squeeze in the draft somewhere one weekend lol. No free agency period just sign as you go. Voila |

I’m about 60/40 socialist. Need better balance but capitalism is a necessity if better checks & balances. That though is the real problem & why it won’t happen. |

Yeah, maybe. I get the feeling that government will try to work with industries to reduce crowding. I’m not saying restaurants won’t open, but that they will create new standards for distance between tables, for instance. Maybe it’s no shared arm rests in arenas?
It’s easy for us to be confident here in BC. Very few cases, very few deaths. Places like NY and LA might be more wary.
Time will tell. |

Apparently a former F1 driver.
The first who was a duchebag who spit on the elevator buttons in his apartment building as he was getting out. Then a guy walks in, pushes the buttons... caught on the security camera. |

Tanking...
The theory it guarantees a 1oa. Hardly
It takes a shltty team for years doing this to win a cup. Only Chicago & Pittsburgh have been so lucky.
Extra picks is more darts to get more luck.
JB hasn’t needed that has he?
Is drafting all luck or savvy & scouting? - Nighthawk
And LA, Detroit, New Jersey and Chicago. But hey only worked for like 6-7 teams that come to mind |
