I do get it trust me . I am just pointing out a flaw that my team and a bottom team have an equal opportunity on the last day of the season to make the cup playoffs . Anyone can win any one given game. So we both play the game and if they lose they get a 33 % chance at the first overall draft pick and if my team loses they get a 2% chance at the pick.

If they go with that format that all teams can make the playoffs in a one game series then all losers have to be given the same equal opportunity at the lottery.

no, you still don't get it. That's not how a round robin works. NP, moving on

If they do something like that or a mini-play in, I would wager they'd set the draft order by winning % at time of stoppage.
- RealityChecker

They will probably do something but it will not be fair.

They are awarding positions . An example is if the season did play out there is a good chance Winnipeg would have made the playoffs. With no shot at winning a playoff round they get forced 15 or 16 at the lottery.

Canucks were in a slump and could have dropped to 12 from the bottom after the season finished but would again be awarded 15-16

I honestly get what everyone is suggesting but I am saying there won't be a fair solution no matter what.

It's even worse when you're hungover and debating if you should go to the hospital or not, because you have no idea what happened to you last night...

You think they will go to a 6 or 8 game RR instead of playing out the final 12 games? Why.

I don't think they will do either. Just suggesting a way they could establish a group of playoff teams that would be "fair" to everyone, and do it in a shorter period of time. Our kids typically play five or six games in a three day tournament... Imagine NHL teams doing two a day?

Again nothing against your format or anyone else's I understand we are just throwing out ideas but if a team is playing in a playoff or any type of elimination game and gets a 30 % shot at the first over all I would be pissed.

Bettman was just on CNN and said he understands that it is possible that there is no return and it is out of their control. He said they are monitoring it daily.

lol bobble heads and fake news...that must've been something.

Seriously though could we not just solidify draft positions for clubs based on where the season ended at 70 games? Is that not fair for all or is there some kind of algorithm that could 'predict' where teams could have finished over the remaining 12 games lol

I actually don't mind Lefty's first two round 5-game format and the last two rounds 7-game format idea that's not too bad. Not to pump his tires or anything

I was just looking at the bottom standings there are 6 teams all within 6 points of each other. There will be a lot of back lash on the bottom end also after NHL starts awarding team standings.

It is not theirs or anyone's (except Trumps) fault but there is not going to be a happy ending except finishing the season.

Twelve teams did not play 70 games .

They will figure out something but it will not be an even playing field. They can go by stats or winning % at 68 games seeing all teams have played 68 games but some teams will have played more home games.

I guess what I am saying is no matter what you are going to have a lot of screaming after final decisions have been made.

20 teams that play produce 10 winners after the first round . Second round produces 5 winners . Do you see a problem with 5 winners?

Something juicy with lots of acidity. High elevation Malbec from Argentina. If you can find one from Salta (far north of the country), or a decent Mendoza (I like Achaval Ferrer).

Spanish Priorat (near Barcelona), Ribera del Duero or Toro reds

Italian (lots of choices here) - Barbera, Dolcetto or Nebbiolo all from the North would be good. Nebbiolo can get expensive (Barolo & Barbaresco) but you can find less expensive versions (Gattinara). Sangiovese (Chianti), Montepulciano, Sagrantino.

Australia - bush vines Grenache, or if you can find a Syrah from one of the cooler areas like Clare Valley, Victoria, Margaret River.

New Zealand reds - Pinot might be a bit light, but the South Island has a few great spots.

From BC a red from Kelowna area or Naramata bench. Try something weird like a Gamay Noir or Blaufrankish, or something a bit more mainstream like Cabernet Franc or Syrah.

Edit - looks like Liquor Crossing Wine Center has many of the same brands as Richmond Hill & J Webb in Calgary, which are both great stores. I’d shop there if it’s close.
