Something juicy with lots of acidity. High elevation Malbec from Argentina. If you can find one from Salta (far north of the country), or a decent Mendoza (I like Achaval Ferrer).

Spanish Priorat (near Barcelona), Ribera del Duero or Toro reds

Italian (lots of choices here) - Barbera, Dolcetto or Nebbiolo all from the North would be good. Nebbiolo can get expensive (Barolo & Barbaresco) but you can find less expensive versions (Gattinara). Sangiovese (Chianti), Montepulciano, Sagrantino.

Australia - bush vines Grenache, or if you can find a Syrah from one of the cooler areas like Clare Valley, Victoria, Margaret River.

New Zealand reds - Pinot might be a bit light, but the South Island has a few great spots.

From BC a red from Kelowna area or Naramata bench. Try something weird like a Gamay Noir or Blaufrankish, or something a bit more mainstream like Cabernet Franc or Syrah.

Edit - looks like Liquor Crossing Wine Center has many of the same brands as Richmond Hill & J Webb in Calgary, which are both great stores. I’d shop there if it’s close.

If they do something like that or a mini-play in, I would wager they'd set the draft order by winning % at time of stoppage.
- RealityChecker

I would hope they do something like this when no playoffs happen.
Rank the teams by points accumulated, whether same amount of games or not.
Each grouping gets the same percentage. (Ranked highest to lowest percent)
1 Detroit
2 Ottawa, SJ, LA
3 Anaheim, Buffalo, NJ
4 Mtl, Chicago, Arizona
5 Minny, Nash, Van, Florida NYR, NYI, CBJ, Carolina, TO, Wpg, Cal, Dallas, Edmonton
6 Vegas, Pittsburgh
7 Philly, Wash
8 TBL, Colorado, StL
9 Boston

No, it’s a tournament to get into the playoffs. You play your division rivals once. This gets the top three teams per division. 12 teams, plus the next two best teams per conference. So each team plays about another 6 games (regular season) which determines playoff seeding.
- 1970vintage

So sh!t teams like LA, SJS, ANH get a chance at playoffs? That is the stupidest idea ever.

Yeah that's not good.

Hopefully things start rolling in July as per Bettman and it's the top 16 win%.

If you actually believe that any of the California teams could beat the Canucks out of a playoff spot, under this format then you aren’t a real fan. It’s like saying the IIHF is stupid giving Switzerland a chance at a gold medal at the WJHC.

The Canucks have lost to the Ducks twice this year(only faced them twice), beatthe kings 3/3, 3-1 vs the Sharks this year. Two of those wins VS the Sharks they were without Couture(which is a huge loss to them). I think it is possible we lose to the Ducks(highly likely based off our record so far) and Sharks. I feel it is unlikely we lose to the Kings.

I am curious about some numbers.

I seen in the UK 12 000 have died from the virus ? I wonder what a normal years numbers look like ? Basically a 4 month period?

Same as I seen that 11 people died in BC since Saturday and 45 people got ill. On a normal long weekend in BC what is the usual death rate . I am not talking car accidents only or . I mean smoking ,heart attacks , car accidents, shootings ,
everything.

This is not questioning the virus , I am just wondering what normal numbers are like in those two time frames.

I guess, although they could startup with no fans in attendance.

The mean death rate in Canada for 2019 was 7.8 deaths for every 1000 people, if that helps? The United States of America was 8.8 per 1000 in 2019 and roughly 56 million people a year die on planet earth, just for cross reference.

Why not put little cameras throughout the stadium, and people can pay online to pretend to be "in that seat" and get a view from there. Camera always follows the action. Eventually they can create a VR experience that will allow users to feel like they are at the game, from their home. Get a mix of fans in the stands, VR users, and people just watching on TV.

Agreed. The hockey will be dreadful. Resuming the season and/or playoffs reeks of greed.
