Would you have to wear some sort of contraption on your head and over your eyes like those stupid video game things?
- Pacificgem

Yes you would. This is huge with younger generations, and will be getting bigger as more games move to VR. Some people think there will even be VR MMORPG style games within 10 years.

I had one in 2003, after dealing with two daughters I thought to myself there's no way in hell I want anymore of these little (frank)ers

TV will still be an option. But VR will reach a younger generation. One that Can't afford to go to the games, but want the experience. They will pay for it, and most will already have the equipment.

Woo, hockey back in the summer,

One big piss off of the game broadcasts are the television camera angles. Set up in the sixties and they still go with the same set up, cameras looking across at the team benches, no coverage of the near boards, no coverage of the whole ice to see what’s happening away from the puck, players positioning, archaic crap.

With today’s technology the NHL sucks the hind titty with dynamic broadcasting.

So let me get this straight, Bettman wants to get the 20/21 season under way by the beginning of November (no all-star game, no bi-week) but they could conclude the current season by November 1st?

So the two teams in the cup final will play until Nov 1st, take a day off, and then start the regular season again?

I guess. Their summer break will be April / May and part of March. Once this season ends just roll on into the next.

Ontario has just extended their state of emergency another 4 weeks. That would put a return to work date of May 13th. There a few teams who are only at 68 games, if you assume one game every other day, that's 28 days to complete the regular season, that makes it June 9th, about the usual time they are awarding the Stanley cup. Next you are going to play somewhere in the neighbourhood of 24 games (finals teams), every other day, which is 48 days, or July 27th. Add in a 7 day "training camp".

If they do go ahead and do this, I hope it's an all Canadian final so the TV ratings are brutal, or something like Florida v Arizona...

Bettman, and the owners more specifically, want a 2 to 3 week training camp to get the players back in skating shape. So you'd have to figure that in as well.
