since you're in the medical field, is it possible to get CTE from being hit in the head by a 94mph wrist shot?

lol relax Codes. You know I like to poke the bear here a little.

I get that it's not a 'hoax' and that numbers have risen to close to 2.2 million cases and the death rate is approaching 150,000. What about 550,000 recovered? No one seems to mention the positives.

H1N1 had an estimated 575,000 deaths in the first year alone and close to 1.6 billion infected in less than 12 calendar months. Is Corona on it's way to that? Maybe but maybe not as well. I get Corona's death rate % is higher but still...

But yet the world wasn't shut down into a mass panic for H1N1.

You're obviously a smart guy Codes you don't question anything? Don't think there is something fishy going on? Not to start a giant conspiracy debate lol

- LordHumungous

Methinks maybe those two are related?

And it's "maybe not" on it's way there because of the quarantine. If there wasn't a quarantine, the infections would dwarf that number.

Not to start another giant debate here but what about not allowing the healthy 98% to develop the 'herd immunity' to it? Doesn't that actually promote more of a second wave? Serious question actually...

it's impossible to prove a negative. should the measures put in place work, it only provides fuel to those that don't believe in the severity of what's happening.

a doctor put it best: if what we do to control the virus works, we won't know if we did too much. if we don't do enough, we'll know very quickly.

great britain actually started off with that strategy (remember boris making a point of shaking everyone's hands?) they had to reverse course very quickly.

https://www.nationalgeogr...t-coronavirus-we-need-it/

If the risks of COVID-19 were not so high, it would technically be possible to bring about herd immunity by allowing the disease to run rampant through a population. However, evidence shows that scenario would lead to high rates of hospitalization and need for critical care, straining health service capacity past the breaking point.

https://www.theguardian.c...on-covid-19-herd-immunity

He reflected the general bafflement among many experts, because “herd immunity” is typically achieved via widespread vaccination against a disease.

There is no vaccine for Covid-19, and “herd immunity” without a vaccine assumes that the vast majority of people who recover from the coronavirus will then be immune, which has not yet been conclusively established.

I’m thinking it’s pretty easy to practice social distancing with the rules that private courses have put in place. 12 minute tee time intervals and maximum of three players who must stay two meters apart at all times. If I can walk around Thetis Lake with a good number of people there on the trails this should actually be easier.

Anyone found not respecting the social distancing rules loses their privilege to golf and must visit the board. Which is fair. You must sign a waiver to accept the rules.

- LeftCoaster

Ive been golfing the last three days, easiest social distancing there is. Only thing is if you use a cart or trailor. Beauty last three days.

I know. Covid 19 just surpassed 1 million cases worldwide. Only 1.399,000,000 to go until it matches the 1.4 billion cases of H1N1 in 2009. 51,560 deaths and only 525,000 to go to match H1N1.

Sure is a good thing we wrecked the economy over this so you socialists can have your way.

Limit 2 only for all items.

Had to wait 5 minutes to get in . It's a new world out there. Fantastic job by everyone.

Because H1N1 was mediated and controlled by the governments in power. There was a real fear it would be an issue here, but luckily the steps taken prevented it. Who was the administrator then? Hint: not your idiot friend donald, some who actually took the threat seriously and reacted

Jake has had a career year to reach those numbers this year Debrusk has played like that every year.

Last three year average

Debrusk 20.6 Goal average per year 40 pt average per year
Jake 14.3 Goal average per year 27 pt average per year

I also never quoted a number for Debrusk so how do you know how much I think he is worth.

I also said Jake 1.8 not 1

- VANTEL

Debrusk has also been very effective since his NHL debut, a much stronger resume overall. Playoff performer, special teams... kinda what i hope Jake will be.

Blues sign Dman Scandella to 4 year extension @ 3.25 .

Good price but another indication that Pietrangelo is not coming back.

The Bruins also don’t have roughly $20m dollars (that’s for Bloated) in dead cap space because of all the useless players.

It’s not the socialists that don’t want to work. A socialist society is all about the work.

There is no doubt this is an environmentalist coordinated attack. They’ve essentially shutdown all industry, commerce, travel (car and plane), and natural resource extraction. The clean air cabal has finally got their way. Blood is on their hands.

Schools in Vancouver thinking about reopening in two weeks or so. That’s what we’ve been told by our kid’s school.
