Nightie finally hit a decent proposal
Still don't think there is a chance of AP coming here though. |

I know. Covid 19 just surpassed 1 million cases worldwide. Only 1.399,000,000 to go until it matches the 1.4 billion cases of H1N1 in 2009. 51,560 deaths and only 525,000 to go to match H1N1.
Sure is a good thing we wrecked the economy over this so you socialists can have your way. - LordHumungous
There are nearly 150K confirmed deaths from covid-19, which matches the low estimates from H1N1. By the time this is over the deaths will be in the millions and that's with having taken the extreme measures.
There aren't enough tests going around for the living, you think they're testing the dead?
If the idiots out there would have taken it seriously for 6-10 weeks it would almost be over. |

I want to give a shout out to the province of New Brunswick and how they've managed this virus from the beginning.
If I remember correctly NB had it's first confirmed case was on March 11th, kids were sent home from school with their belongings March 13th. A state of emergency was declared shortly thereafter, and school has been cancelled for the rest of the academic year.
Intra-provincial borders have been policed heavily with non-essential travel not allowed. The latest figures show 112 total cases with no deaths and 80 recoveries. With more widely available testing we're still seeing most days with 0-1 new cases.
The Premier extended current measures until mid-may, but suggested we may be the first province to re-open. I would assume that means domestically with measures in place at all access points.
I'll point out that NB and the maritimes in general (aside from Halifax?) benefit from very low population density. However, none of the provinces are wealthy and they took measures right away to shut things down realizing long term costs would outweigh short term consequences of doing so.
Anybody thinking that things will go back to "the way they used to be" anytime soon is in for a rude awakening. |

It may be that we never do, enough time in lockdown may make us all too phobic about gathering into crowds again. Not to mention going to restaurants to sit and eat, watching movies in theatres, watching sports in arenas etc. If I were A&W/McD/DQ etc... I'd seriously consider removing all lobby seats and bringing back the drive-in and maybe increase the number of drive-in theatres around. |

As much as I would like to have Pietroangelo, he is out of range for this team.
I would be looking at Ekblad in Florida, in a trade. The kid is a pretty fine defenseman, signed for another 5 seasons.
Although his concussion history might be a bit concerning. |

He is a solid choice. As you mentioned he has concussion concerns. He puts up Ristolainen type numbers and is 2 mil more per year . |

The big difference though, is 1 is an all-situations player, the other, not so much. IMO |

Everyone wants to be associated with the Canucks, best young up and coming team in the NHL, top caliber talent, (not self absorbed headcases like Matthews), good goaltending, excellent GM, only question mark or bad part of the organization is three members of the coaching staff and the egomaniac director of amateur scouting. - Makita
Watch out for those 65 point predictions. |

I think there's going to be a lot of public fear and apprehension until a vaccine is made. There are clearly going to be multiple waves to this, as one city in Japan has already found out by going back into quarantine. There's no way to really stop the spread once you open things back up again. |

Ekblad is a fair bit better than Risto, the problem if that we wouldn't like the cost of acquiring him. |

I had Risto in the hockey pool ( that I won by more than 30 pts ) I followed his activity every game . I would gladly take him on Canucks . |

He can also defend much better than risto. I like risto, but he is offensive deployment second pair. |

The funny thing about hockey pools is they don’t actually track how well he defends. Risto is below the nhl top4 d average for expected points differential per60 and has poor possession. That’s why he doesn’t pk or get defensive zone starts anymore, cause dahlin is already much better than him |
