You have to feel sorry for this poor bastard
A man in Adelaide bought 10 000 dollars worth of toilet paper and hand sanitiser . He bought it with the intentions of profiteering but E Bay and Amazon removed ads so he was not able to push his wares. He now wants the supermarket to buy it back and they wont.
Some guys can't catch a break - VANTEL
If you can afford 10K on toilet paper you can afford to donate it to a good cause. |

Flavor of the week
Don't know enough about him other than a finalist for NCAA HB - VANTEL
Nothing wrong with flavour of the week.
Zacmac wasn't a flavour of the week, Benning signed, now most think he will be a fulltime nhl player, next season.
Throwing darts at the board is fine, even if a player only becomes career ahl type, they are still a prospect with some potential. |

I think I heard him say he wants to go back and finish his senior year so he should be available next summer. |

I don't remember so many silly pictures of a recent GM other than Benning. Just has a propensity to stick his foot in his mouth sort of speaking. The shoe polish hair, the stupid faces, talking like a 14 year Valley girl with so many "like" and "you know" in his vocabulary, etc. etc.
But man he can finish near last with the best of em and draft kids like few others in the world have ever done

Google “Carlos Boozer shoe polish head”. The guy didn’t even have hair and just dyed his melon. |

You have to be able to look at the bigger picture to understand why he's not the best choice going forward imo. The end result of finishing low is drafting great young players, that's not the difficult part.
I've praised Benning before for various things, obviously not my choice if I had one. The Miller trade turned out really well but I felt is was premature at the time.
Pearson was a good trade but that doesn't exonerate Benning from the initial colossal failure of trading McCann and the 33rd overall pick to acquire a really bad defenseman.
Virtanen was a really bad 6th overall pick, however, he's here and I think he can contribute. So at the end of the day it was a bad choice but they're making the best of it.
I really liked the Toffoli trade, hate losing Madden though, I felt like the guys played well enough that they deserved a shot at the post season.
Boeser was a great pick, Hughes too
Gaudette was a great pick for when they got him but I believe that comes from the scouting staff as the GM doesn't decide late round picks, that's where the scouting department makes their money from.
As I said I really like the major junior and college kids Benning is signing, good value for nothing, it's a no-brainer win-win for the club.
So long story short, there's some good and some bad, but it's more than that, it's the process and other things that I hate. It's not as black and white as you make it sound. - LeftCoaster
Well considering the vast majority of those guys are not top5 picks, i have to disagree. I agree tanking for top picks doesn’t take much talent, but the majority of those guys were later picks than that, free agents or traded for by JB... and of those high picks, in redrafts many of our guys are going higher than where we picked them, meaning that it is in fact JB and his staff that are killing it on draft day the last four years.
I totally agree he’s miffed a lot of trades and signings, but the fact still remains that he created this roster and it looks pretty competitive going forward. if they can re-sign their key guys and add to the d, contender is in the cards. You look at all the 10-20-30 year rebuilds many teams have had... I don’t know man, im pretty happy woth how green our grass is myself. |

It’s clearly not throwing darts at the board if you’re having success where other teams aren’t. It truly blows my mind to think of it this way. They identify talent, seek it out and develop it. |

I didn't expect Neem to agree.
Pretty sure Boston and Pittsburgh have been fairly successful at this, well before Benning started attempting to do this. |

Like I said, Toffoli + Tryamkin improves our team more than just Tanev. Tanev may be a fair bit better than Tryamkin, but Toffoli solidifies our top 6. |

Exactly. Teams that are successful aren’t throwing darts you twat, that’s why you can point and say “that team is good at it”. I didn’t say anything about Benning being the first, cool story though. |
