The one on the left looks like Trumper and the other looks like a douche, how about we trade both of them for a first and second round pick this year.

No really...

Boston was a cup favourite this year. Vancouver?
- Marwood

Does that mean they don’t have a similar cap situation, which referred to as “tons of cap space”? Cause how they performed has nothing to do with what we were talking about.

We are both correct . It covers recapture but doesn't include Rookie bonuses. They have more money than I had thought which will make me even more intolerable

For someone that stands on a pedestal, you sure turn to insults quickly.

He who casts the first stone ought not be a baby about return throws, i think that’s in the bible

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

John 8:7

Basically means don't be a Richard, and don't poop in someone else's yard, because it's entirely possible they could turn around and do the doodoo in yours in return.

The Bruins also don’t have roughly $20m dollars (that’s for Bloated) in dead cap space because of all the useless players.

Right, so we could have even more cap space than the bruins. Who have “tons”.

They had Bakes Belesky and Seidenberg . They were not wart free either.

They gave up a first and took back a questionable player

They have retained on Backes, $1.5 for one more year. That’s a far cry from Lui...

Those other guys don’t go beyond the current season. You can do better than that...

They are poised to be back in the hunt for another cup (were, anyway). They were in a position to give up a bit of the future to win now. I’m not saying they might not regret some of those contracts later. Coyle might not age well.

They may be poised for a cup but they sure took an ass kicking 9-3 from the lowly Canucks in one of th two meetings.

They have had issues also . No team is issue free.

You’re right, the two teams are basically equal. Same cap space, same chance of a deep playoff run, same coaching, same quality management. Go down the list, they’re like twins.

Cap space goes quickly when you try to sign players in UFA whether it's your own or others. If you have a ton of cap space all that means is that you have a lot of holes in your roster to fill. It's rare and bad practice to have a full roster with tons of cap space left because usually (not always) that means you are either cheap and not paying for stars or you're a team that has a whole lot of players on ELCs and not much else. That's not a recipe for a Cup contender or even a playoff team unless those players are Draisatl/Matthews/McDavid/etc quality or the team as a whole vastly overperforms.

Boston this year will eat up all their own cap space . They are getting to be an old team . They could win this year but have just as good a chance of getting beat out by Columbus in the first round.

I think the team that was really coming on strong was Flyers.

Every team has issues.

They have Krug to sign (or replace) but for the most part are in good shape. The Canucks have a starting Goalie, #2/3/4? D Man and first line winger to sign. Not really in the same boat imo
