For the love of God just stop reaching for players (Benning) thru trades, draft and develop or continue to sign excellent youth talent like Rafferty.
Give them a chance to play and add to the core guys. Our defence isn’t as bad as people are making it out to be, it needs some changes but they need to improve how they play defensively as a five man unit more. - LeftCoaster
Holy f uck, finally something you posted that I agree with, i like the talent on the team, I question the coaching decisions and strategies. |

I question whether the players are capable of executing the strategies given to them, Green sure didn't have these problems in Utica with his team executing them. He even got them to a Calder Cup Final and was massively competitive in a couple of lean years when injuries necessitated the Canucks raiding their AHL roster for callups and leaving them bereft of talent.
That's not to say I don't think he's got room to improve, but I'd like to see him next year with a whole new staff under him. One thing that has to change for sure is whoever is coaching the D. There's no reason the d-men and forwards should be giving up prime scoring chances as often as they do. If Markstrom does leave for greener pastures, I don't see Demko being able to steal the same amount of games Marky did this year with all the rubber he saw and the amount of dangerous shots he had to deal with.
I give Green one more year with a new staff and if he can't get improve enough to put us squarely in a playoff position and avoid the slump we were having just before the shutdown then he needs to go and a more experienced coach brought in. |

Not disagreeing here but heading to an AHL final as compared to a Stanley Cup Final are two very diferent beasts.
Now what if the team plays 'above' Green's ability coach next season and we get in the PO's? He'll be here for alot more than one year if the club keeps improving every year and there is no indication that they wont.

Krug will be expensive, no doubt. Debrusk- bridge, Chara (if he comes back) will be cheaper than Stecher, Grizzy - not much either. Backup goalie... |

When? Talking about opening, or actually opening? Will they have those stupid “holes” on the green that you don’t have to put your hand in? |

Gaudette and Demko will be good replacements here within a few years. Gaudette is already showing that he is a 3c and could potentially be a 2c. Demko has starter skills, we will see on him. Raymond being there right now is quite pathetic. |

Grizz will get stecher money, good young player. Krugs looking for 6-7, debrusk has earned a nice raise i could see 3-4 mil easy on a bridge. It’s funny how much you guys will be pessimistic about your own team, then layout the best possible scenario as “likely” for any other team. |

Yeah, just checked. 2005 draft - Edler, Schneider, Hansen in 2004.
Raymond is actually the best of a rotten bunch. |

Nonis threw away a lot of second round picks so that makes it really difficult. |

The difference is Boston needs to sign role players and the Canucks need to sign Starting goalies, top pairing D and first line wingers, plus give raises to their roll players. Very different situations, with roughly the same $ |
