Look at that Social Distancing!! - LordHumungous
Maybe COVID-19 will take out most of the US and Canada can take it's rightful place as the only REAL superpower in North America after we annex the States. |

Oh man, you nailed it. EW&F, Parliament, Kool & the Gang, Commodores, etc.
Even got to relive it when roller skating came back into style in the mid 80s for a very short time.
There was this place in NS called Wheelies in Sackville. When Boogie Oogie Oogie came on... we got it on! - bloatedmosquito

I can’t do it. Same routine as “normal” or I don’t get anything done. Coffee & breakfast over HockeyBuzz, S-S-S and then to the home office to get some work done before cocktails at 2 |

I don’t think the team lacked toughness at all. I think they were coached into passiveness during the playoffs. The 2011 team was the best Canuck team ever and the stats show it. They dominated the regular season. They were talented, dirty, and incredibly hard to play against. Playoffs... not so much. - bloatedmosquito
The whole strategy of turn the other cheek that they employed to great success during the regular season went out the window when the refs put the whistles away (as they do in the post season, not some grand conspiracy to fck the Canucks). They never adjusted. |

The one against Kruger might be considered a hard hit if you are a pacifist. The rest were . - Marwood
I loved the one on perry and then drops the guy that comes after him, I remember watching that one live and being happy. To each their own, lots of hits in a rookie highlight package if you ask me |

Defensively Dahlin is in the top 5 in the league in most metrics. |

There it is. Bruins had no business being on the same surface as that 2011 club...but what happened... happened. Can analyze it all day all night lol plus the Bettman/Campbell factor after the Rome hit...Luongo choke...on and on. Bottom line is they had the skill and everything else to get it done. AV shutting down Lappy and Torres in the final in favour of the dead PP was one of the killers like you said. They were crashing and banging in the CHI-NSH-SJ series but were almost invisible in the finals after the Rome hit. - LordHumungous
TBH, I get a little cranky when people disparage that team. They were so good
Franchise-record 50 wins
Scored the most goals in franchise history
Allowed the fewest goals in franchise history
Lead the league in goal differential by more than 20
League’s best offense
League’s best defense
League’s best power play
Presidents’ Trophy
Art Ross
Lindsay
Selke
GM of the Year
Franchise-best 15 playoff wins
and yet couldn't get it done in the playoffs. (frank). |

That put away the whistles is BS, there's no way you can tell me after all the PP time the Canucks got in the SJ series that Bettman/Campbell didn't look at that and look at how Boston wasn't a very good PK team at that point (which is why it took them 7 games to take care of TB) and not say, "Ok, we need to not give the Canucks that many chances."
Saying that, yes, absolutely after Game 3, adjustments should have been made and the team should have took it to Boston in Game 4, even had they still lost it might have been enough to get the team to push through their injuries and still win. That Game 4 stinker was the straw that broke the camel's back. Sure Aaron Rome's suspension didn't help but they still could have won with a hard fought Game 4. |

Hardly, they were decimated by injuries and they were up 3 games to 2, but to each their own. The 2011 team was much more talented, when not injured, than the 1994 team. - Pacificgem
You don't get beaten 8-0 in the SCF and go on to be the champ. When the Canucks won, they were close games when the Bruins won they humiliated the Canucks. Injuries are a horse-sh*t excuse. |

no need. I’m quite capable to do that myself.
I just don’t think there’s any argument to be had statistically. If people want to talk about favourite teams then sure, that’s opinion, but can’t argue with the regular season numbers.
It’s the second season that dooms this franchise. Always has and 2010/2011 was no different.

I agree with the no adjustment. Coaches at times are their own worst enemy. We see it with this team today. So frustrating. |

After that 8-0 beat down, I knew they weren't winning the cup. Yes it still hurts but '94 hurts more because I believed all the way through game 7. |

Lots of teams have a bad game and still win the Cup if you care to look. Vancouver outshot them and out played them in the series, except that one game, but the guy who won the Conn Smyth made all the difference for them. |

There’s no debate about who was more talented, anyone who says the 1994 team is just dead wrong. The 94 team was deep though, three solid lines and a tough fourth line plus great goaltending. |

In ‘94 you believed they could come back from anything, and they nearly did. In ‘11 you held your breath expecting them to crumble (which the nearly did in each round), and ultimately did. Still, as Leftgemdestroyer said, ‘11 the more talented team. |
