Agreed about Frost being better suited to wing. Ive been saying that since we drafted him. I just think his size and speed are better suited for a less physical role. He can still be an elite playmaker and have the puck on his stick from the wing. Just my 2 cents.
Ive suffered from migraines my entire life. They can be debilitating. But much of dealing with it amounts to how well you can maintain the correct measures to combat them. Learning to know the signs of when they may be coming and "head" them off at the pass so to speak. In the end it comes down to how much you can deal with the regular to mild ones, and how much you can literally take with he bad ones.
I have entertained thoughts of sticking an icepick in my temple and forehead. I have sat there and literally wrapped my forehead with my knuckles because that pain is less than the migraine and actually diverts my thinking from the pain...I know that probably makes no sense to some.
In the end Nolan will just have to recognize how to mitigate, and or just figure out how to power through them when they occur. |

I loved the Morgan Frost pick, always hopeful he’s our next Giroux, time will tell. If he puts in the work he’ll be successful because his skill is readily apparent. |

Frost+ Farabee <=> Schenn ???
Schenn being a UFA this year is going to cost
Consider Fryers’ progression
Not so easy
I lean on best to have the two young promising guys with their ELCs. |

If there is a compliance buyout do we trade for a player needing a buyout to bring in assets along w him. I can’t think of anyone on the team who really needs one. Might be a nice asset to be had as a few teams would kill for an extra mulligan |

One, we don't know if that is going to be possible, and second, the Flyers don't have the cap space to do anything like that. JVR would be a candidate for a compliance buyout.

I get we don’t know if that is possible but not much else to think about hockey wise these days. Wasn’t thinking about the cap compliance though that’s a good point |

Hummm. 8 years. Wow. He will be 37 going into his final year. He’ll be a bargain for the next 4 though. Power forwards that play a physical game usually can’t keep that production up through their mid 30’s. Case in point Simmer. |

I think Simmers problem ended up being that he was playing a 220lb game with a 180lb body.
Same goes for Richards when you think about it. Except he was probably 170 soaking wet. |

True. It certainly helps to have a big solids frame when playing that kind of game. Although power forward games still take a toll on the body. Not really crazy about an 8 year deal with Schenn at 6.5. Not a high cost to pay for sure though. They will get some bargain years out of him for sure. |

If most of of this board can be over the moon with Kevin Hayes at 7.14 million, Blues fans should be Ecstatic to have Brayden Schenn at 6.5 million. It’s a no brainer. Hayes with 41 points in 69 games. Schenn with 57 points in 70 games. They’re both around the same age. Yes you can make the argument Hayes has the more balanced game but Schenn clearly makes up for that with being the more offensively talented player. |

Yeah. Not really questioning his productivity. He is not the 200 foot player the Schenn is but Schenn gets paid to put the puck in the net and apply a physical game. While Hayes is physical it isn’t a punishing style like Schenn. More of a suffocating style of play. I just think Schenn style is going to take a toll on him and finishing that contract at 37 years old will be interesting. But like I said, he is a bargain right now. And the Blues need that now. |

The same can be said about Hayes. Will he be worth his contract near the end of his deal? Schenn is a very good player. In my opinion the edge goes to Hayes, as I believe he is a better all around player and he brings more intangibles to the team. I really think his personality has changed the culture of the team. He's a big part in making things fun on the team and I think that has had a major impact.

Just think there is a difference in their game type that takes a different toll on the longevity of one’s career. Schenn is smaller and plays a more physical game (hit related) and will be 37 when his contract will expire. Hayes is a big body and plays a suffocating game and will be 34 when his contract expires. Really thing those last 3-4 years are going to be tough ones one the Blues.
No knock on Schenn. He is a hell of a hockey player and at 6.5 he is more then worth it. At least for the next few years for sure.
Edit: I agree Hayes’ game is a bit more valued. Schenn can light the lamp but Hayes is just so well rounded and what he has brought to the atmosphere of the team is not to be overlooked |
