On the serious side , I remember when Canucks made those signings that off season most people felt they were decent.
Not one of them worked out except we got Motte in the deal. |

Trying to insulate some of the kids I get, but there's been way too many missteps of these types to justify. The guy just keeps throwing poop against the wall to see what sticks and he's (frank)ing up the cap situation while he's doing it. |

No, I'll agree that AQ likes Benning because he's a yes man but at the end of the day if you don't produce results the Aquilini's will can your ass.....it's coming! - Pacificgem
We will see, money is tight even among the rich. Why pay a salary for a guy you just resigned, plus a new GM? Especially when in the general population Benning is seen as a good drafting GM (which he is), and decent trader (again which he is).
Just lock him in a crate for the first 2 weeks of July, and all is well.
And fire Green...
PS see WTI Crude prices -7.30 for a barrel |

New coach. new GM . new Pres . What results were people expecting?
There have been quite a few rough spots , the last two years seem a lot better. I think you will see a lot less of free agency the further we go. |

it's $1 a barrel, the whole industry should just shutdown and produce what's in storage.

I hope you're right.
But this seems counter-intuitive to me. I would have liked the big name free agent signings and trades for win-now players when they are ready to go from playoff team to contender. He seems to have had that mentality to get them to be a playoff team whereas I thought he would be able to do that with drafting a strong core and allowing them to mature.
Anyway, like I said I hope you're right and he's able to navigate the tight cap. |

'Negative prices are possible'
The type of oil that comes from Canada's oilsands is known as Western Canadian Select and it, too, has seen its price plunge in the current economic climate.
WCS typically trades at a discount to WTI since it is harder to transport and refine, but the sell off in WTI's price has pushed the price of WCS below zero — meaning Canadian oil companies are functionally having to pay to get rid of their product.
Raymond James analyst Jeremy McCrea told CBC News in an interview that he expects the price of WCS will continue to flirt with going below $0 for a little while yet.
"We did see WCS go negative this morning," he said in an interview. "As we look forward into the next month it does seem to get a little bit better but with storage so full and getting more full by the day it doesn't look too optimistic over the next couple months."
•Crude storage is filling fast as demand tumbles, piling pressure on oilpatch
Schieldrop says faced with these prices, many producers will have to stop pumping — possibly forever.
"The oil price is now ordering producers to halt production and it is happening at high speed and in an unorderly fashion,
he said. "This is creating damage to production and some of it will never come back online again."
Hedge fund executive Pierre Andurand of Andurand Capital said negative prices make sense in the current climate.
"There is no limit to the downside to prices when inventories and pipelines are full," he tweeted. "Negative prices are possible."

This is totally a guess on my part of what will happen in the off season.
Sutter will be traded for a fourth round pick
Loui sent to Utica
Canucks trade for a RHD
Rafferty promoted.

Two different things, air quality doesn't always equate to warming or cooling. Some Chinese kids didn't even know the sky was blue |

So how do you explain syphilis ? - VANTEL
These syphilis symptoms may come and go for up to 2 years. They include body rashes that last 2 – 6 weeks — often on the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet. There are lots of other symptoms, including mild fever, fatigue, sore throat, hair loss, weight loss, swollen glands, headache, and muscle pains.
and go crazy...like Al Capone |
