I'm just wondering if you're familiar at all with what humans did to combat acid rain and the holes in the Ozone layer or if you think it all magically went away one day like the coronavirus. - golfingsince

I honestly don't mind a flat cap for a couple of years. When I see Marner Matthews McDavid money being thrown around I think it is stupid. You cripple your cap hit for a good number of years . It doesn't stop there either, you get the next tier wanting 7-8 mil.
When I seen people here this summer saying pay Boeser 7 mil I almost puked. - VANTEL

doesn't matter what the cap is; the top end players will always get a ridiculous amount of it.
there's going to be a lot of teams that struggle with a flat cap and the canucks will be one of them. it's beating a dead horse but why is a bottom-ish team near the cap limit every year? one way out for benning has always been a rising cap.
we'll see if he (and other cap strapped GMs) can navigate through a flat cap. - RealityChecker
I think a flat cap will keep them from making foolish signings. When I hear Tanev or Markstrom wanting 6 mil for 4 years or more I think yikes. I am not a fan of the 6 mil contract including Loui Edler or Myers At least Edler was only 2 years. |

I grew up in Northern Ontario, witnessed the effects the acid rain has on fisheries and the environment in general first hand.
I used to go to Sudbury to play hockey and all you could see for miles and miles was rock, and the stench approaching the city was horrible.
Shortly after emissions were curbed they put lime everywhere around the city, slowly but surely things have started to grow back. |

I think we need to become a part of CascadiaNow, before people like Lordy and the rest of Alberta move here. |

i agree on the 'way too high' asking prices and the dumb ass signings.
however, at the end of the day, the dollar amounts will still be roughly the same percentage of the cap limit. based on a flat cap, i don't see a player's ask being a lot different.
but if cap ceiling team GMs are instructed to spend less than the cap limit then we may see a decline in relative salaries. i doubt it though.
this doesn't mean that teams (and/or players) won't try to do short term deals this summer to see how things shakeout. |

lol you're such a sheep.
the lime gets into the air and you breathe it. the lime works with the tequila already in your system and it makes you susceptible to mind control.
now you're just a mindless robot deployed by the system. i'd link you to a youtube video to uncover the truth but that would send warning signals to those in charge. |

I know I have had many discussions on here with various people . I am not at all blind to the numbers . It would be concerning to me if I was to lose players that I really cared about.
As we all know we will meet the cap there is no other option. To me I don't care if Tanev or Markstrom want to move on. Once they go over the 5 mil dollar drop dead line or 2 year max I would prefer to see them walk.
I still think no matter what we will have a competitive fun team next year and that is why I say Cap is not an issue. |

If the people who weren't born on the island had to leave and go back home it'd be a wonderful place. Driving places now is like when I was a kid, you can get from Oak Bay to Langford in 15 minutes with no traffic right now...it's awesome. |

I dont mind LH either, I just dont want anything thing to do with that mentality.
I still laugh at these Albertans that still cry because the country didn't vote the same way as them.
These idiots honestly think Western Canada should separate, I tell them, if anything BC needs to separate, with like minded people, and that doesn't come from Albertans. |

you're right.
but i'd still like the team to have enough cap so the gm can make decisions solely based on the player rather than having to look at the cap situation.
the team shouldn't be in a cap crunch situation right now but here we are. the team is definitely looking better but it would be fantastic if the team had this core plus substantial cap to work with. |
