Tuesday was a good day in Sabreland. Fortunes changed by the minute in Buffalo.

At lunchtime, Tom Golisano announced via email that he is selling the Buffalo Sabres to Terry Pegula. Golisano bailed the Sabres out of bankruptcy, and along with Larry Quinn and Dan DiPofi, helped to restore the pride and equity in the 40 year old franchise. The Buffalo Sabres brand was in peril until Golisano's investment helped to buoy the franchise at a time when it needed stability the most. Terry Pegula will be taking control of a team that's never been better fiscal shape than it is today.

I was talking to a contractor today - he's lost a lot of jobs because people just don't feel financially secure. His wife has basically lost her entire income for the year.

It's why I have great sympathy for people who want the restrictions to be lifted.

I don't have to agree with them, but I certainly respect that they feel the pain from COVID-19 isn't as bad as the pain from economic collapse.
