concentration of media conglomerates is an issue for a lot of countries, including for very free countries like Canada

I am not sure this is the case.
Seems to me a lot of journalists actually like that 'game'.
Reminds me of the Eastwood movie "Richard Jewell" (based on real events). Poor guy died very early of a heart attack (not saying that it's related, but I'm sure we all agree that severe stress is not very healthy).

You generalize and stereotype more than anyone here. You make up statistics like 90% of this, 10% of that, yet you get on your hobby horse and lecture us from your pulpit about "fake news" and sensationalism. You can't have it both ways. You also have a seriously condescending 'smartest guy in the room' vibe.

that was brilliant, regardless of political preference

It's widely considered to be one of the worst things ever done at a political convention.

So brilliant if you support the Democrats...

That's why I thought it was brilliant...I remember watching it and laughing at it, considering the context of it and who was saying it

So it was brilliant because it was so bad it was openly mocked and caused damage to Romney's campaign?

I'm not sure we share the same definition of "brilliant."

Just read LeBrun's interview with Pieterangelo.

I did not know he has 2-year-old triplets.

Kinda makes you think he's looking for a 7 or 8 year contract.

Could be.
I think he signs a cheaper 1 year deal with st Louis cover the uncertainty of next year and then looks to sign a longer term deal with them once things settle.
But i could completely wrong, way off, drunk......or all three.

I don't know why you are attacking this woman.

She obviously plays Monopoly, and during these hard times, she's made up a sign that says if you hit Boardwalk (where she has a hotel), you "LAND FREE."

points is something everyone cares about in player analysys (I am not saying thats good of bad) but everyone bases most of their opinions of a player on it.

also, points based on all states of hockey does allow for a lot of luck to creep in (good and bad)

Looks like to me he would want to pick a forever home for the rest of his career.

Canada is looking pretty nice these days

That's a tough call. I guess his wife would have a lot to say about it, no idea where she is from.

He may be after the typical warm climate, relative anonymity, destination.

Only reason I was hoping the Leafs would sign him was that if he came back to the NHL and was good, it would kill Garf inside.

I can just see how it would go down with her

We lock eyes at Walmart while going for the same bag of pork rhinds, the kind of serendipity you can't ignore. After a whirlwind week, we end up at the local dive bar at 2pm on a Saturday, the kind of place where people turn a blind eye to drinking and driving because america is a free country... I hide the engagement ring in her bottle of coors light, she finds it just in time and only dribbles a bit of beer on her USA shirt as she pulls the ring out of her mouth. We get the leader of the local cult to wed us at his farm, and aftewards, we go to the Hard Rock cafe where I let her pick any single item she wants off the menu and happily split the bill with her. The rest is history.
