He did . He came on late in the year and was outstanding for the first time in his career. He followed it up with a second fantastic year.

He was the best goalie not playing in the NHL at one point, and FLA had a dismal development plan. I remember reading that they didn’t have a full time goalie coach. It’s taken him longer than expected to get to “starter” category, but I think it’s safe to say that any team will get better than average starts with him as your number 1. Will the Canucks be willing to pay him? Will he be willing to sign for less than he might get on the open market? Lots of questions to be answered over the next few months.

I like Markstrom . I hope he comes in for 3 years at 5 mil . I would like to see him be part of the team and I am pretty sure they will figure it out . If he decides he wants a home run contract I hope it is not here.

i'll take that bet.

the bet is actually just that the canucks are a top 10 team in the league at the end of the 2020/21 season since no team has ever not been cap compliant.

i say they are not, you say they are.

$20 goes to charity. either way, it's fun and a good cause gets $20.

- RealityChecker

WTF, I'm in too. $20 to charity if the Canucks finish as a top 10 regular season team at the end of the next season.

It feels like they made a very detailed plan but forgot to put the page numbers at the top. Then when Jim was on his way into the office he stopped for a hair cut and polish and accidentally dropped all his pages on the floor. The barber picked them up for him and handed them back in whatever order the landed and Jim said “Yup, that looks about right”.

the swedes that have played here generally sign for decent terms so let's hope that trend continues.

To be honest I can't even try to attach dollar amounts to contracts right now, so I won't. I agree though, if he wants a reasonable deal then by all means sign it here. It might take 4 years though.

I personally don't expect you to match each individual bet. This is fun and a win/win.

great idea!

all those that say they are going to be top 10, join up.

all those that say they aren't going to be top 10, join and list.

at the end of the season the losing "team" donates. no one person is responsible for covering everybody.

Fine, we'll let minivan come back for one day only just to make sure it's all in the book.

I say not a top 10 team.

I think it is a great idea too . My charity would be Food Bank. Vintsy can pick the other one. Obviously the honor system is in effect .Hopefully everyone can be as trusted as Kramer

You blew your load already?

Also, my charity is Hero Work, they raise money and volunteers to renovate buildings for other charities, like the Mustard Seed and others. Currently an Island based charity, but they have plans to expand across the country. I would t hold anyone else to donating to this particular charity, as long as they choose one of their own liking.

Won't be a shortage of charities to donate to. I think last time we made a bet it was Jumpstart.

I'll donate to something at the time but I'll wait and see. A school lunch program might make sense at the time, at least for me. I think some kids in our city are already feeling the effects.
