Were you concerned about the Sedins retiring and losing their points? We're fine.

We'll be fine without Tanev Edler. Tanev you could keep a bit longer but there is risk there. Kinda like Willie Mitchell. Guy was never healthy here how long you gonna keep a guy that is never healthy?

- LordHumungous

Not at all. I stated back then the points by committee from the freed up TOI was no problem. As for D it’s a much harder position & to fill properly. I sought names/ideas. Not against moving on but the details matter more than a vague hypothetical is all.

I was looking for something at Costco today online. Found out there were sold out of Emergency food kit pallets at $6500 each.

Furthermore in an earlier blog i suggested AP 5/8m maybe 6yrs. Not about if he’d sign as much as a key D is needed. Woo might be that but he’s a few years away if he keeps improving.

Moving on from 2 top 4D is one thing but they are both the best defenders as well. We don’t just plug n play anyone to replace that.

Name on free agent signing Benning made that worked out? I think Miller was close but after that?

I know he signed one guy that scored 31 one year and sucked the next year.

We usually don't do good in Free Agency

So are you saying it happens automagically? Not a UFA but what?

Idc about the past cannot change that.

It's pails full of pouches I think. Apparently feeds 36 adults for 30 days, just add water.

Free agency is not a good place to shop. It is overpriced.

I would look at a trade with a reasonable term and reasonable salary hit

Teams that have those players tend to hold on to them, or else demand the moon for them...

Thanks Carol.

I was listening to Patrick Johnson yesterday and he was giving Gillis really high praises about how he was advanced in many ways.

I look at Gillis as Typhoon Gillis. You may have a clean car and the windows got washed but the destruction and havoc that he left behind was numbing.

Is it me or do we have the goofiest looking GMs possible?

for what, voicing my opinion on an opinion board? It's tiresome, I'll agree, but that won't change until they hire Ron Hextall to replace Benning
- Pacificgem

Fuck, I almost spit my drink across the $5166.00 tough book.

Ron Hextall was the worst GM in Flyers history, there is a reason that Philly vastly improved, because they fired that shithead.

The thing about naming names is everyone hates every name suggested. If I suggest Risto everyone hates it.I mentioned Dougie Hamilton everyone hated it. People in here before mentioned Karlsson everyone hated it.

There are D men to be had and we have players available . I will leave it to the GM to find the trade.

Maybe, just maybe, it's the names you are using, try using Tanev or Edler, only people that would hate it are Lord Hummer and you.

Maybe we hate it because it is beyond stupid to pay 6 mil to a shot blocker that plays 50 games a year. and puts up 15 points . If you don't believe me check yourself .

Ok lets get this straight...

The premise of moving on from Edler/Tanev is a simple statement. The question is who & how much. Refrain from history & get over that it’s irrelevant for this discussion.

I’ll start with numbers...

$10.45 cap gained losing both.

Resign Toffoli looks to be a priority along with Marky. Say Toffoli 5/5.8m Marky 3/5m.
Net cost for these 2 is $2.5m.

$10m left temporarily barring other moves.

I suggest AP @6/8m leaves $2m.
Stetcher traded for a pick maybe a 3rd.
Saves another $2.3m.
Leaves 4.3m for 2 D.
Tryamkin 2/1.5m
Raffertty .7m
2m cap space created

The D now looks likes this...

Pietrangelo Myers
Hughes Tryamkin
Benn Rafferty
