I personally can't see it working at all for this year.

I understand NHLs stance on wanting to complete it instead of paying back a billion dollars for TV broadcast rights.

What I don't think will work is telling 500 grown men they will be sequestered for 3 months or so including their family .

I also think as regulations of restrictions ease the virus will continue and creep into the NHL society.

What happens the first time a player tests positive after the re-start? Shut it down again? Remove physical contact on the ice? Wear full face shields - no exposed sweat etc?

Might as well, since there is no longer a recapture penalty he can just retire after 4 years, no problem...

I don’t know about other industries, but the insurance industry does not consider a pandemic an “act of dog”. Business that had loss of revenue insurance are getting SFA. Virus and infection spread is an act of human.

you're right which is why i think the league didn't invoke the clause. also, there were only a couple of paychecks left so not a huge deal.

add to that the league is a hard cap league so it doesn't really matter how much is paid out only to be returned later.

i don't think they're going to be the only league/sport playing. they'll take their cues from other leagues especially the NBA.

One person in the shower at a time. Two dressing rooms per team

Trainers don't do the laundry or touch the equipment.

There's going to be a 2nd wave, if they don't do this right there won't be sports next season.
